George planted and tended 66 acres of small grain and pasture and sis acres of corn and learned much about seed bed preparation, use of fertilizers and approved cultivating and harvest ing methods. George says he learned that it pays to rotate crops and plant adapted seed. He also found time to take part iu many community activities and for three of his six years in 4-H. served as leader of his local club, George gave 37 talks before com- munity and club meetings and helped to enroll many younger 4-H'ers.
