On last Thursday the senate took
up the joint »«solution introduced
by Dolph, proposing a constitution,
al amendment on the subject of
marriage and divorce, aud prohibit

addressed the senate in support of
the joint resolution.

And spoke of the sacred ness of
the marriage relations, of the many
varying marriage and divorce laws
in the several states .of the union
and of ths propriety of having an
uniform system governing marriage
and di voice throughout the United
States. He denied that he was in-
