Six Plead Guilty in Circuit Court J It was ;i busy day for Circuit Judge Kr<\l \V Wilson and District A ttor ney John Baker when ’ he Circuit Court tried six young men in the court rooms in the First National Bank Building Of the six men. charged with crimes of theft and forgery, three were first offenders, All six enter-« ed pleas of guilty. One penitentiary sentence to a star offender was meted out. and four paroles were granted by Judge Wilson ” 1 am not in favor of the parole system." Hall now faces two sentences to the penitentiary one from Oregon City ami one from Hood River In the case of Frank T Plummer, 22. from Oklahoma, accused of lar ceny of personal property In an ad mitted act of stealing two rings from a room In the Hooff* River Hotel. Judge Wilson deferred passing sen tence until Plummer’ s record In Oklahoma and Washington. D C . arrives. He had been sentenced and paroled in his home state after fi.v- ing a charge of passing bad checks. Jewell Cox. 11*. of Salem and "J'heo dore Henry Hoeppner, IS, o f I.odt, Calif . accused along with Plummer for doping and robbing Joe Coxad of Hood R iver of $52 in cash, were paroled to their parents It was a first offense for these two. The three had left Hood River after their crimes on October 21 and had bought tickets to I.odi Hoeppner’s brother had heard a police radio broadcast describing the boys and Hoeppncr's parents were instrumental in bring ing them back to Hood River The case of John Quint, of Minne sota. in which he pleaded gulltv to t charge of taking an automobile wheel and tires belonging to K R Pooley, resulted in him being paroled to H. F. Hollenbeck, after being sentenced to one year in the peni- tentlary. It was Quint's first of- fense. and it was pointed out that bad company had caused him to be involved in the theft.
