S CH O O L NEWS CASCADE LOCKS HIGH SCHOOL (By William Morgan) Superintendent Langton was a Portland business visitor Tuesday. Miss MacRae attended the home coming at Linfield College over the week-end. During the past week some of the equipment for the Home Economics room has been received. Tonight is the night for the High School Carnival. Free admission with many a laugh and lots of joy for all. ♦ CASCADE LOCKS GRADE SCHOOL A Hallowe’en party was enjoyed by the 5th and 6th graders Friday afternoon. Games were played dur ing the afternoon. Refreshments were served at 3 P. M., which con sisted of cake, salad and punch. Two football games were played during the past week. The first game was played Wednesday at Bonneville. The game was won by the Locks, with the score at the end of the game standing 9 to 0. Friday a game was played with Barrett on the home field, with the score at the end of the game stand ing 40 to 13 in favor of the Locks. The lineup for both games was as follows: Quarter, Bo Jenkins; half back, Dubie Merrill; half back, Bob by Hyde; fullback, Norman Novell; end, Forrest Hess; end, Dan Abes- cher; guard, Kenneth Woodward; guard, Dick Harrison; center, How ard Brolliar; subs, Melvin Collins ard Brolliar; subs—guard, Melvin Collins; center, Bobby Kelsay; end, Riley Jenkins; end, Freddie Walker. A game is to be played with Frankton next Monday and another with them on Friday. Everyone hopes we will win, so our team can play for the county championship The Primary room had a Hallow e’en party last Friday afternoon and a good time was enjoyed by all. Dalton Borall entered the first grade this week. He had previously been attending school in Camas, Washington. The third and fourth grade room had a jolly Halowe’ne party Friday afternoon. One of the features was the parade through the other rooms and into the high school. Many comical and pretty costumes were worn. There were ever so many goodies to eat. Paul Kelsay, Elli Nelson, and Helen Jenkins served and were the best of help. The third and fourth grades were sorry, to see Glenn York leave for Portland where he is now going to live. Dean Davidson spent the Hallow e'en vacation at the beach and brought back some starfish for the seashore collection. Robert Nichols and Dean Davidson brought plants and Pauline McChris- ty brought flowers to make their room attractive. The Pilgrim house in the 3rd and 4th grade room is nearly finished; the roof is thatched and the logs are chinked and trees grow about. Soon they will make Pilgrim men and women. The 7th and 8th grade room is planning their booth for the carnival to be held November 5. They are going to have many interesting games. Chicken Dinner Friday evening, J. S.
