Bruin had wan dered down the mountain and was poking about in the district just back of the Silvers home, midway between Sherman’s Inn and the Dodson district. Common concensus of opinion is that the t*ear got what he deserved, for he should have been old enough to know that it was time to hiber nate for the winter. He snould have sensed the approach of the cold snap. too. and not been worrying about food. J On her birthday last week Mrs. George Barker entertained a group of friends at a lovely buf fet supper. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sohlstrom, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Belanger. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Scheufele. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Garner, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Murray. Mrs. K. Van Sekermerhoru and daughter. Gloria Mae returned from Portland recently. Hallowe'en was a big day around the Garner home. In the afternoon Mrs. Jack Russell. Mrs Read the Chronicle for news Marshall Russell. Mrs. Ed Scheu fele, Mrs. Lawrence Belanger. Mrs. George Barker. Mrs. W. H. Matlock, Mrs. Ed Sohlstrom and BEFORE ENJOYING Mrs. Lee Murray enjoyed an af ternoon of cards. At dinner time SUNNY BROOKS they were joined by their hus SUNDAY NIGHT bands and enjoyed a potluck din ner. In the even ing Mr. and Mrs. Haven Nutting iropped in and real old-fashioned Hallowe’en games were played. Mr. and Mrs. Haven Nutting spent the weekend in Portland. The weekly bridge club met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Glen Brower. Those attending were Mrs. Irwin Hall. Mrs. James Bell, HAY, STRAW. GRAIN Mrs. Lyle Hiekock, Mrs. James Fabion. Mrs. Earle Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Murray were dinner guests Sunday at the Gar ner home after the men folks had spent the day working on the Murrays new house In Cascade Locks. The Murrays hope to oc cupy the new home about the 15th of this month. Mrs. Anna Morrone, mother of DRY OR GREEN Mrs. Ed Clarke, left Sunday for her home In Glendive, Montana. She will stop in Spokane for a few days with another daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Waring and daughter spent last weekend near Eugene. They took Mrs. T. W. Stevens, Mrs. Waring’s mother, to the home of another daughter. Miss Mable Frazier of Portland has beep the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ping the past week. Parker The tirat grade pupils had a Hallowe'en party last Wednesday. They are also tearing a few new dances In their physical education class They will be given in the next school program. The upper grade girls are prac tising basketball. The second grade room is now complete with the addition of new blackboards. The fifth grade are now having a health Inspection. All grades had a HiHOwe'W party last Thursday at the Admin istration building. All upi>er grades walked down but the pri mary and the other smaller grades rode down They had a program. Those who participated were the Girl’s Glee club which sang "Sing a Little Song When You Are Happy". The hoys sang "The Itte of Capri." Last Student Body m»*el!ng they decided on a symbol for the school. It will be a big B with the letter G In the top part and the letter S in the bottom part FRIDAY.
