They expect to move this month. Mias Ethel Dixon of Centralia is vis iting friends here. __ Mrs. E. J. Nicholsofr entertained the Woman's Union of Riverside ch arch last Friday at an all day meeting. Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Taylor and Mias Margaret were in Portland over the week end visiting -their new grandson and other relatives. Mrs. Manser, Mrs. West and Mrs. Hull motored to Walla Walla recently to visit the young people they are in terested in at Whitman College. B. H. Beell of Brampton Farms, On tario, Canada, and Ivan Laughery, field man for the American Jersey Cattle club, were guests at dinner Bunday of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Acree. Later in the day with Mr. Acree and Mr. Larsen they visited the Forden farm, ate ice cream and discussed dairying. Walter and her group of players put on the play, “The Old Fashioned Mother”, at Odell Grange hall on Haturday evening, and again at the Baptist church in Hood River on Monday evening. This play was inter eating und amusing, and those who at tended enjoyed it and knew that their money was for the Children's Farm Home at Corvallia. The next regular meetlng^wBl lie on C. B.Tuesday, March 20, at the home of Mrs. C. B. Woolpert on 13th street on the Heights. Mrs. Wm. Munroe will have charge of the program. There will be talks and discuaaions on the different offices of state and on com munity life and spirit. St. Mary's Card Party Saturday St. Mary's parish will celebrate St. Patrick's day Saturday evening with a card party at the Mt. Hood hotel dining room. The party, it Is expected, will draw one of the largest crowds ever present at such an event. Uach family of the 'parish will be responsible for a table at the St. Pat rick party. Low Temperature Halts Rain The heavy rain storm, which had prevailed for three days over the mid-. Columbia, was halted with lowered temperature Bunday night. The girls’ game ended with a score of 10 to 04 In favor of Mosier. The boys were more evenly matched and their game ended with a score of 5 to IS in favor of Mosier. After the games refreshments were served and several hours of dancing were enjoyed. The visiting teams were entertained in the various homes for the night. Mosier is going to send delegates to the annual typing contest to be held April 14 at Pendleton. An elimination contest will lie held soon to determine who is to go.
