The present supply is proving inadequate and the pipe lines are reaching an age where they cannot lie defiended on Owing to the increased population of the city and country t lie re is the dan ger of pollution which comes up each summer. P. hall Saturday night to raise funds needed in the maintenance of the city’s crack drill organization. The Legion drummers and buglers, who will attend the party in uniform, have brought much good publicity to Hood Hirer the past year, and it la assured that a large turn out will be preaeat for the hop. The drum and bugle corps are doing much to aid the Hood River Ski club In boosting the winter sports carnival, to be held next Sunday, and the latter organization is aiding in creating an Interest In the dance. OederwalL “Each week the traffic association is engaged in some work that is of direct benefit to the orchardlat. The traffic association is the medium through which many community problems are solved. “Ths traffic association here, aligned with almilar bodies in every other Pa cific northwest fruit district, is engaged in a campaign to secure a reduction in apple freight rates.
