Ray is rapidly making many friends in Hood River and In Ma workouts at Art La CbapoUe’s gymnasium la dis- displaying real class. He takes his wrestling as a business and bars no one in his daily workouts. The public is invited to attend the workouts at any time in the basement of the David son building. Mr. Ray states that in every match In which he appears he wants it distinctly understood that at any time any patron figures that they have not gotten their money's worth they are at perfect lilterty to ask for a refund at the box office. At the last match Ray challenged Alley, and after making a display of very poor sportsmanship Alley did not accept the challenge as he claimed be would be wrestling elsewhere on that date. As yet this mythical match has not been located, neither Promoter Hamllu, of Portland, nor anyone else with the possible exception of Alley being aide to give any information as to its wberealmuU. The singers are as follows: Mrs. Maher, Rose Beauregard, Arleta Beau regard, and Anne Hickey, sopranos; Margaret Rice and Mrs. Adams, altos; Joe McDonald, baritone; A. A. Mohr and P. J. Mohr, bass, and Cecil Hickey and E. P. Dresser, tenor. Marie Dres ser is organist. The general public is Invited to this mass, which is characterised by the excellence of the music. O. A. lleed, Eut Bide orchardist and former member of the directorate of tl>e Apple Growers Association, was elevated from vice presidency to presi dency of the Oregon State Horticul tural society at its annual convention held last week in Salem. Hood River was selected as the meeting place of the society In 1927. The program will deal chiefly with the problems of the apple grower. The meeting at Salem was chiefly con- cerned with small fruits and canning problems. A meeting held at Medford two years ago developed solutions of problems for pear growers. Leroy Childs and John Plug were the only representatives present at Salem from Hood River.
