there were four main objects of the ex
hibition. First, to attract capital to
the northwest. Second, an appeal to
that class of people who are tired of
the congested cities of the eest and
want room to expand. Especially to
that class with a little capital to in
vest and ready to retire from active
business, such as are flocking in large
numbers to southern California. Third,
to encourage the establishing of branch
factories in the porthwvst. where there
is an abundance of water power and
undeveloped resources. Fourth, to ex
ploit civic advantages and attract tour
