Tile lunch committee commenced serving hot lunches "to the school chil dren Tuesday under the supervision of Mrs. H. W. Whitely and Mm. L. F. Parker for the first week. Mrs. Wm. Reedy will preside In the kitchen. The lunch committee is highly gratified at the generous response to their solici tations. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. McCammon and sou, Kirk, were in Portland for shop ping the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Catherwood were hosts to the Fortnightly club Saturday night. Their home was beautifully Christmasy and the ladles received their table numbers and partners' names from a pretty little Christina» tree. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bingaman were guests of the club. The Christmas program will be Tues day evening in the school auditorium, beginning at b p. m. Prent Wk Cutler is chairman of the decorating committee; Mrs. J. It Edgar of the treats commit tee, and J. T. Woods of the tree com mittee. Chas. Baker, wife and son, Clayton, from Pilot Rock, are guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Pete Neil son (Verna Nalsoa), of Klickitat, wiU regret to hear of the sudden death of their month-old daughter, Phyllis. Mr. and Mrs. Clande Walker were called to McMinnville Bunday by ths sudden illness of Mrs. Walker’s father, who bad suffered a paralytic stroke.
