Davenport passed from this life to the life beyond. The deceased was born In The Dalle» September «, 1X72. At 9 years of age he, with hte par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davenport, moved to Mooter, where Mr. Daven port resided on a farm until two and a half years ago, when be with his family moved to The Dalles, where be could be near doctors who were treat ing him for Brights disease. Miss Mallory has been elected as president of the Wom an’s Physical Education association of Berkeley and her new work will call for a tour of California in the inter eat of physical education.. Miaa Mal lory was also one of three to be se lected from Berkeley this year by Nu Sigma Psi, national honorary physical education fraternity. She will be graduated this June and ao she has had teaching experience, expects to be able to carry on her work in Portland high schools. The local school board has re-elected the present staff of teachers. If the union high school carries then there will be one or two more places to fill. The.present staff includes: Robert M. Hamill, superintendent; Irene Walker, high school; Mrs. Augusta Trill, Mar garet Morrison, Ruth Johnson, Mil dred Prints, grades. A banquet was given by the school beard in honor of the teachers.. The members expressed gratification over the school Situation during the last year. Coach Hamill, of the high school, gave a banquet to the basketball team lawt week. The table was decorated in green, 8t. Patrick's day colon and green frogs were used a* favon. Mn. Hamill played the piano and the boys sang during the evening.
