K. Rlek- inan, who operates a tract with 38 acres of 10-year trees In the Parkdale district. Mr. Rtekman last fall packed out 17,202 boxes. His gross returns will exceed $20.000. The total was high because of tbe fact that he had 4,000 boxes of Delicious, which brought from $2.40 for C-grade to $3.05 per box for extra fancy. Mr. Riekman arrived in Hood River March 7, 1924, to take charge of the place, formerly operated under non resident management. His chief costs the past year were from packing house ex penses. His records show that he lacked his apples at an average of 113 cents per box. He wbr apprehended Thurs- day after colliding with another car on the Columbia River highway west of here. It was the first application of the recently passed legislation, directed at drunken driven, which automatically deprives one convicted under its terms of his driver's license for a year.
