A plan for such a central organisa tion was drawn up, providing for the Inclusion of the cooperatives of Hood River, Wenatchee and the inland em pire. with headquarters at Walla Walla and Dayton. Wash. According to this scheme, which will be submitted to the different co operative organizations for their ap proval Immediately, each association would continue to maintain its Indi vidual sales manager. They would cooperate, however, in the purchase of supplies, and have uniform sales contracts. The central organization, it was declared, would have as its princi|>al function the lessening of the cost pf marketing and the Improving of conditions of distribution. Each association would pay into the central not to exceed ’,4 cent a box on the 1925 erop. It was declared that after the cen tral organisation had begun function ing in good shape an effort would to made to obtain the membership of all cooperative apple associations. The plan for the formation of such a central federation of apple growers’ cooperative organisations has been under conylderatlou for some time.
