Turney, who were murried at Baraboo, Wis,, cele brated their golden weddinu Weill e. -day night of last we'ek at the Bast Side home of their (jbughter, Mr.--. P. B. Laraway, and famuy, Mr. Turney is a native of Bridgeport, Conn.. His bride of 60 years was born in Michi gan. The couple. however,have spent mo? t of their lives ;n Wisconsin, living first at Chippewa Kails and later It Stanley. Recently they sold their humr at Stanley and came to Oregon for a vi-sit. They like the stale so well that it is likely they will locate. Only two other of the eight children in addition to Mrs. l araway, were present for the jubilee celebration. They were: Miss Ida Turney, of the Kngl ah department at the University of Oregon, and Miss Jessie Turney, of Pine GrOVe. The other children are: Mrs A. Henfiensan, of Stanley, Wis. ; H. B. Turney, of Boyd, Wis. : Mr.-. Maude Murphy, of St. I'aul, Minn.; Mrs. 0. G. Bannister, of Glenwood Citv, Wis., and Mi-s Evelyn Turney, of New Yoik city. The school attendance for three months ending November 19, has the highest average since 1914. R. 11. Hazleton and daughter, Elizi beth, were shopping in Heed Rivei Saturday.
