This discovery is called DES-DES, and is more eco nomical and safer to the farmer than other so-called Rodent Exterminators. It is compound so as to attract both in odor and taste, and will produce the desired results, where others fail. A TRIAL WILL CONVINCE. If your dealer does not have it, write us. J CARO FIBRE WRAP MAN VISITS HERE Clinton L. Shorno, director of the sales for Hlake-McFall Company, of Portland, and W. K. Dallman, of the ! American Sales Agency Co., of San Francisco, arrived here last week in I the interest of a new fibre fruit wrap known as faro that is meeting with 1 considerable favor in Northwestern districts. The special hbre paper is manufactured exclusively for fruit wraps. It is said to prolong the life of fruit, as it clfhtfs closely, drying up escaping juice. An ingredient also kills bacteria and prevents the spread of de cay. The new fibre paper, it is claimed by the makers, la being used on a con stantly increasing scale by the large fruit interests of California, and a number of Northwestern sales con cerns are buying heavily. i PRODUCE EXCHANGE The Hood River Produce Exchange, which has been shipping leal and Un derwood strawberries this season, ex pects to bring shipments to a close this week. "The crop has wound up rapidly," says P. L. Tompkins, "tho fruit of later fields in the higher altitudes hav ing made a far smaller yield than was anticipated. Our shipments have run about 200 crates per day for the past three weeks. We purchased one tract in Underwood from Geo. W. Collins that ran about 1,000 crates." Yakima Pools Closed The closing of the Winesap and Yel low Newtown pools was announced last week by the sales department of the Yakima Fruit Growers' association. The Winesap pool included 200,233 box es. of which there were 93,632 extra fancy, 44,459 fancy, 80,988 C-grade and 1164 jumble pack, and returned an av erage of $2.06 net to the association. Detailed figures follow : Blue Y 81 and 4 tier. $2.65; 4J tier, $2.25; 5 tier,$1.95; Red Y 3J and 4 tier. $2.35; 4 tier. $2.25; 5 tier, $1.65 C-grade, 8j and 4 ter, $1.85; 4J tier, $1.75; 5 tier $1.10; jumble, $1. The Newtown pool included about 20,000 boxes and returned net to the asssociation as follows: BllM 163s and larger, $2.10; 5 tier, 1.60; Red Y 613s and larger, $1.80; 5 tier. $1.30; C grade, 163s and larger, $1 45; 5 tier, $1. The segregation into two groups was made bv the sales department because of the unusual demand during the past season for the larger sizes, and the re fusal on the part of buyers to accept more than a certain percentage of smaller sizes without a price reduction. This condition was in Bharp contrast to that of the preceding season, when the small sizes.commanded practicalh as good a price aa the larger through out the season. Indians Vamoose Warm Springs and Yakima Indians, who have been participating in the strawberry harvest and vacations, have left the valley in scores the past week. Most of the Indians returned, as they came, in big automobiles. The Indians, it is said, left a shortage of alcohol heat, cubes at local stores. The Red men utilize the heat cubes in the man ufacture of a cocktail that is said to have an extreme amount of authority.
