Just before the recent holiday one of the old Mongolians, a particular friend oi Morrison a called at the store and asked lot a turkey. 'What kind turkey, Wan?' Mr. Morrison asked. 'Ob, no,' said the chink, 'You send um gobblee up you house. Him Thanksgiving plesent flom me. And just about that time my conscience be gan to hurt me. REV. YOUNG CALLED TO ELLENSBURG, WN. Rev. W. B. Young, who for the past fi e years has been pastor of the As- bury Methodist Episcopal church of this city and who was recently appointed for the sixth year by the Columbia River Conference in session at Lewis ton, Ida., was surprised last week to receive the announcement tbst he was to be transferred to Ellensburg, Wash. Kev. Young s last local sermon was preached Suunday and he will move with his family to the new charge this week. Rev. Young, who is a brother of Rev. Benjamin Young, now located in St. Louis, Mo., but who waa formerly pas tor of the First Methodist church of Portland, came here from Palouse City, Ida. Rev. Elijah Longbrake, of Lewiston, Ida., will succeed Rev. Young as pastor of the local church. Rev. Longbrake will arrive here in time for the services of December 24. Rev. Young and family have formed many close friendships during their residence in Hood River. Expressions of regret on hearing of the news of his transfer are heard not only from the members of bis own congregation but from residents of the city who had been so fortunate as to become ac quainted with him.
