Furrow as road supervisor of District No. 7 was accepted and he was appointed Road Master of Hood River Cou'nty at the agreed price of $4 per day and traveling expenses equal to ten cents per mile. F. A. McDonald was appointed supervisor of Road District No. 7 to fill the vacancy caused by the resig nation of H. L. Furrow. The petition of R. J. Mclsaac and others for a county road was denied, there being more remonstrators than petitioners. The petition of D. L. Rowntree and others for a county road was discuss ed and further consideration contin ued until the 17th day of July, 1915. The petition of lone S. Scott and others for a county road waa contin ued until the 17th day of July. The Viewers Report on the petition of H. L. Furrow and others for a cou'nty road, passed the first and sec ond readings and was referred to the District Attorney. The road petitioned for by E. C. Miller and others was ordered open ed, and the old road ordered closed. The viewers' report on the petition of Wm. R. Warner 3rd a'nd others for a county road passed the first and second readings and was referred to the District Attorney. The viewers' report on the road pe titioned for by Jossie D. Hannum a'nd others passed the first and sec ond readings and was referred to the District Attorney. Whereupon Court took a recess un til the 17th day of July, 1915 at 10 o'clock a. m. The colored trou badors will arrive here next Saturday, and they will make things lively while in the city. A fiee street parade is a part of the program, and the lively music will be an additional feature to attract the Saturday afternoon crowd. The Virginia Minstrels include good dancing, singing, novelty acts, jug gling, wire walking, hoop rolling and tire eating. The colored minstrels will appear in their own big tent. The press in other parts of the coun try, where the Virginia Minstrels have appeared, have the highest praise for the performances. Mulholland, of Toledo, O., president of the International Associa tion of Rotary Clubs, will convene the sixth annual convention of that organ ization in San Francisco July 19. This organization, which has been in exist ence six years, now has a membership of 21,000, says the Indianapolis News. In the United States 108 cities have rotary clubs, whose membership com prise one man in each line of endeavor, and having as a motto, "Service Not Self." Mr. Mulholland, by reason of his force and eloquence in his public speeches, has been named the Billy Sunday of Rotary.
