The election is over now and the Judge, happy at the outcome, is able to enjoy to the fullest his favorite sport. Judge Kent does not go to the river just occasionally, but day in and day out "he may be seen with his long pole and basket, trudging toward the favortie pools on the Hood river, where he may ait or stand, pulling the members of the finny tribe from their watery haunts and ruminating over philosophic thoughts. Rain or shine and not even does the cold weather prevent Judge Kent fiom his favorite pastime the oldest of Hood River's fishermen may he seen returning with his catches. In the springtime it is the steelhead that cre ates his enthusiasm, in mid-summer, rainbow and mountain trout and ut this season the gamy and handsome salmon trout. LHst week, standing under his um brella, for it was raining a small sized torrent, Judge Kent caiifiht 14 tine salmon trout a short ditsance from the steel bridge. Have you been grouse hunting yet? tiurnelte E. Duncan and J. II. Heil bronner enjoyed this exhilarating sport last week. They traversed the country west of tho city between Viento and Michell. However, they didn't even see a grouse. Ted Pooley, Juck Ncwhall, Eddie McClain and Ed Foust left Sunday in Mr. Foust's Royal tourist for Harney county, where they have been putting in several days hunting geese. Robert Leasure is humming the loss of a fine bear skin. He secured the big brown brute several weeks ago on the headwaters of the East Fork of Eagle creek. The skin was stretched on the door of a barn to cure. His bear dogs, among which the bear at the time of its capture dealt some fierce blows, could not resist the temp tation the other night of worrying the skin.
