HOOD RIVBR GLAODBB THURSDAY. JULY 15 1909. Five Silence! The instinct of modesty natural to every woma is often great hindrance to the cure of womanly diseases. Women shrink from the personal questions of the local physician which seem indelicate. The thought of examination is ab horrent to them, and so they endure in silence a condition of disease which surely progresses from bad to worse. It has been Dr. Pierce' privilege to cure a treat many women who hare found a refuse tor modesty In hla otter ot FREE consulta tion by letter. All correspondence Is held ms sacredly confidential. Address Dr. K. V. Pierce, Buffalo, N. r. Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription restores and regulates the womanly functions, abolishes pain and builds up and puts the finishing touch of health on every weak woman who gives it a fair trial. It Makes Weak Women Strong, Sick Women Well. You can t afford to accept a secret nostrum as a substitute lor this non-alcoholic medicine op known composition. FORECAST OF APPLE MARKET Reviewing the fruit crop pioepects, Utauville Lowther, of North Yakima, says iu the VYnabiogton Fruit Urower, that two things ar to he borue iu mind. The Hrst, is tbat it e too early to get the moat reliable report Second, all reports when obtained are more or less innocurate, yet thoy form some basis for calculation. 'lhe government report ol the yeai average, giveu each year on July 1, is 02.3. Xbe condition for 1W7, on tbat date, was 44 per cent, July 1, 11XJ8, 57.0' per oent. Thin year the pros peots are that theie will be a larger apple crop than tbat o( 1907, or than tbat of 10U8. Ihis will not be tiue in the northwest, but it will be true iu most otber apple growing regions Xbe only sections that fall below the crop of last year are Wtahiugton, Idaho, Oregon aud Utah. Tbete states will hnve 8,000,000 bearing trees. Not having so la:ge a number of beariug trees a any one of the ht.it, ot Missouri, New York, Penn sylvania, Illinois, Kansas, Michigau, Kentuoky, or Virgiuia, they will not seriously atfeot the general apple market. The reason they will be missed in the market is because they furnish the best applet! of the world, and the fauoy markets will miss them. Dr. Lowther also poiuts out that, being veil employed, laborers throughout the cuuutry will eat mure fruit than last year, because it will be on the market at cheaper pi ices. However, this will uot seriously art eat tbe market for I'uoiflo northwest fruit, because, while tboy eat goad fruit, it is not the fancy box fruit. Ou tbe other band, capital is making good profits and will give this section a good market at high prices for its fauoy fruit. lhe urticle concludes as follows: "Our couclusiou i that prioes will be high, but not so high as tbe half crop in otber apple-growing sections where there was comparative failure Ust year. Aside from the fancy box fruit, Missouri and New York about control the market. " John N. Glfcfher. John S. Uinther died July 9, 1909, at the borne nf bis daughter, Mra II.
