Tbe announcement that the county oourt have made definite arrangements to i 'ii 1 1 I permanent roads, will be very satisfactory to the majority of the tax payers. Jt was for this pro pose that so large a tax was levied tor road purposes, and the fact that noth ing had as yet been done in that re gard was causing some criticism, but the delay was caused by t.ikiiig time to make through investigations of the different road making machinery, with the result that several hundred dollars were saved in the purchase, and the court are satisfied that they have secured the best machines to suit the conditions of the valley Quite a hole has been made in the road fund lor the pmchase of a plant but It will be good for many years and if not a very large stretch of per ruaitent road is built this year, a start can be made. The highly developed farms in the country can afford to have macadamized roads, and while the first cost will be high, it will be tbe cheapest In tbe long run, anil it will be a good investment.
