''1 BOP RIVER QLAOTER. THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 1908. Three Young Folks WITH HAT AND DICE. Fsat of Magic That Any Clavar Boy Can Parform. Thli trick U simple enough, but It Is not so easy to detect, after all. All yoa need for It are the following articles: First a cube shaped box, with a coTer that completely envelops it, highly polished and painted black, with the box part marked In imitation of a die (this is to be the false one of your two dice), then a real die, which looka precisely like the false one and will exactly fill the inside of the box. and two hats. Having first made sure you are ready to perform the trick, set a table in front of the company several feet away from them and set in it the two THB THICK EXPLaHTOD. hats. Then produce your box, black and handsome, and set it on the top most hat Remove the cover, leaving exposed on the hat the false die containing the real die. Rattle away in a happy conversa tional style, making all sorts of re marks, anything to keep their attention fixed on you rather than the box, and as you do so clap your cover on and lift up the whole thing off the top most hat Then, still talking, bring it down on the hat again and remove the cover again, but this time, pressing the edges slightly, carry away the real die In the cover, leaving only the false die on the hat Your audience, sitting below the level of the die, will not see the dif ference. Now, talking for all you are worth, go through a few unnecessary and meaningless flourishes, In the midst of which you should manage to move the top hat Just enough to admit the real die Into the hat below. As soon as you think fit announce to your audience that now they see the die on the top hat, but "Now," clapping your cover down over the false die and removing it with a Sourish, then dis playing the bottom hat "now you see it in this hat' '-Philadelphia North American. HEALTHY HAIR. BealpS'tfassags the Soret of Keeping the Hair Healthy. Scalp massage Is the secret of keep ing the scalp and the hair healthy. It is. done easily and Is not a great tax either on time or patience. The hair pro ducing scalp is loosely attached to the underlying skull, as any one Atn prove with the fingers. When the scalp be comes adherent to the bones under neath and will not move easily, then the hair will fall out oud the health iness of the hair follicles will become impaired. Therefore one should have two ends in View that of keeping the scalp perfectly loose and flexible upon fts supporting framework, the skull, and that of preventing the flow or blood to the roots so that the hair fol licles will be nourished properly and the oily glands secrete their substance to keep the hair from growing dry and brittle. In order to do this only three movements of both hands in concert are necessary. Before dressing the hair and when taking it down at night loosen It by giving the ends of it two or three light strokes; place the tips of the fingers of both hands at the Junction of the hair and forehead and then work them with the circular mo tion gently, but firmly, toward an lm aginary center at the top of the head. At each turn of the fingers let them work lightly en the surface and then deeply. Th first motion Is addressed to the hair follicles themselves, the next to moving the scalp on the head so as to make it soft yielding and flex ible. The second movement is made by placing the tops of the fingers so that the forefinger of each hand will meet where the last massage left off. This will bring the fingers of each hand over an ear at the Juncture of the hair with the skin. In the same man ner as before they should work over the hair roots with light and deep mas sage until the fingers meet at th cen ter. For the third movement of scalp massage the Angers of each hand are placed so as to meet at the back of the neck where the hair begins, and by de scribing the same motion as before they work themselves upward to the center. In this manner the entire scalp In less than five minutes receives a thor ough stimulation. The hair responds nt once and .will be found to be full of life and electricity when before it was lifeless and dull. It also will make the whole head feel light and, better. This manner of car ing for the hair cannot be too highly recommended. It Is easily and quick ly done and will keep the scalp healthy and prevent the hair from falling. Badly Sprained Ankle Cured.
