some wise women who are brides all

and one teaspoouful ot flavoring ex

Heat one pint of sweet milk aud sea
son witb one toaspoonful of butter,

A New Salad.
In the November number of Harp
er's bazaar there is given a new
method of serving aalad. Procure
large mandarin oranges and cut oft a
section oue third from tbe top of
each. Remove the pulp carefully;
marinate it with oil and lemon jaioe,
a little salt and pepper and lay on
tbe ice. Scallop the edges ot tbe
shells and put crisp, yellow lettuce
around each. Pour off the juice from
the mandarin pulp and put It on as
much grapefruit pulp, wbiob you
have also chilled, and mix tba two.
Fill the shells heaping full.
