Ills' SECRETLY DATED Victoria Lynn Blumenfeld, 19-year-old free lance actress who claims she secretly dated Frank Sinatra Jr., told police she received a threatening note that indicated she would be kidnaped. "You're next after Frankie, kiddo," read the note stuffed into peep-hole of door to her home. Detectives said it appeared to be the work of a prankster. She is shown holding small photo of Frank Sinatra Jr. (UPI) Youth Employment Program Reviewed At Rotary A youth employment program designed to preserve, protect and develop recreational facili ties and accomodations in this area was advocated here Tues day by Larry Espey, chairman of the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Commission. Speaking before the Mcdford Rotary Club at a luncheon meet ing at the Rogue Valley Country Club, Espey told of enthusiastic reception and support of this pro gram in many parts of Jackson County. The project, he said, would tend to improve human resources as well as natural re sources by teaching skills and work habits to young men work ing under capable supervision. Improvement of trails, camp sites and scenic areas and elim ination of fire hazards would be objectives of the youth employ ment program. While accom plishing this, Espey told Rotar ians, young men at least of jun ior class age would become gainfully employed and would establish a close relationship with outdoor life. Keep Youths Busy It is not a step toward solving juvenile delinquency, but would keep boys busy during the sum mer season in wholesome, healthy surroundings and atmo sphere, he noted. The importance of one Jack son County project, the develop ment of Howard Prairie recrea tional area, was cited by Espey. More than 12,000 Boy Scouts participated in the world wide gathering. - Flame Flickers on Kennedy Grave WASHINGTON (UPI) - The eternal flame on President Ken nedy's grave at Arlington Na tional Cemetery flickered out for about one minute Tuesday because of a freakish acci dent. A group of children was visit ing the grave when the cap came off a bottle of holy water. "A stream of water hit the flame directly, extinguishing it," John Metzler, cemetery su perintendent, said. "An attend ant relighted the flame imme diately. I estimate it was out for only one minute." Metzler was at a loss to ex plain how a small amount of water could have extinguished a flame which has continued to burn in heavy rains and high winds. He said he was not present when the accident happened, but reconstructed the events later. There were about 20 children from 8 to 11 years old in the group, Metzler said. They were taking turns sprinkling the grave with holy water. Various plans have been ad vanced for substituting a per manent burner, possibly with a gas fuel line, at the grave. The present flame is from a temporary burner, about a foot in diameter.
