Exhibit
To End
The Rogue Valley Art Associ
ation reminds residents that this
is the last week to see the ex
hibit of sculpture and paintings
by Melvin Schuler.
The show will continue through
December 12 at the Rogue Gal
lery, 220 West Main Street.
The exhibit has attracted wide
interest during the three weeks
it has been on display, associa
tion officials noted. The 17 oils
and 24 pieces of sculpture were
completed during sabbatical
leave from Humboldt State Col
lege where Mr. Schuler is a pro
fessor of art.
The large and vibrant paint
ings are mainly abstractions of
P"ometric or natural forms.
Five have a figure or group of
figures done in rich and subtle
color against a brilliant white
background.
The sculpture is for the most
part done in wood walnut,
olive, rosewood and acacia.
The show will be on display
at the Oregon Ceramic Studio in
Portland in February.
