TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 1903 MEDKOKD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON 8 A Newcomer Is X-Ray Technician Because she has a keen desire to see more of the world, a Swiss X-ray technician is now living in Medford. Theresa Lamprecht arrived here not long ago from Portland and is employed by Drs. Lawson, Mar kee and Saul at their X-ray clinic. ' Miss Lamprecht, who speaks excellent English, received her technical training at University Hospital, Zurich, Switzerland. Last fall she came to Portland, where she has a sister, and took further training at the Uni versity of Oregon Medical School. In addition to English and the Swiss dialect spoken in the area in which she was educated, Miss Lamprcdht speaks German and French. She attended Cath olic schools in the French part of Switzerland and was gradu ated from Salve Regina School. Her father, Karl Lamprecht, is an interior decorator in nni, and is assisted in his work by his wife. In Zurich, Miss Lamp recht belonged to the X-Ray So ciety. Miss Lamprecht said that her parents are encouraging their Hauehters to travel to other parts of the world while they are young in the belief that the experiences would be valu able in many ways. She plans to attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church and hopes to become a part of social and cultural ac tivities in this community. Veterans Group And Auxiliary Plan Elections Election of officers will be glad when members of Medford Barracks, Veterans of World War I, and the auxiliary, meet Wednesday, December 4, at 8 p. m. at Girls Community Club. About 140 members and their families attended a recent Thanksgiving dinner and social hour. Mrs. Frank Hoffman was chairman of the refreshment committee. Among the guests were Department Senior Vice Commander Jack Herman and Mrs. Herman, Brookings, Ore, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Curry, Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Smith, Mr. nnd Mrs. Charles Kretschmer, Grants Pass; Commander nnd Mrs. E. The event is sponsored by Alpha Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and the theme is "Christmas Fashions, Furs and Fun." Funds earned will be used to aid an underprivileged child. Luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m., with the show and card party to follow. Burelson's store will stage the show. Models will be from the vari ous Beta Sigma Phi chapters of the valley. Dodge Familv Visits Ashland ASHLAND Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Dodge of Portland and their son Bill, a senior at the University of Oregon, were Sunday visitors here on their return Thanksgiving with Miss Ellen Dodge in San Francisco. Dr. Dodge is head of the busi ness administration at the Uni versity of Portland. The family formerly lived in Ashland and have kept close ties with the community and the Shakespear ean Festival. -A Your- Double V aS I Four Royal Babies Are Expected LONDON (UPI)-Four royal babies are expected early next year a situation believed to be unique in the annals of British royalty. Princess Margaret is the lat est to announce that she is ex pecting a child. It was disclosed Monday that she expects her second child in April. Princess Alexandra, 26, the queen s cousin, is due to have her first baby in January or February. Queen Elizabeth II, 37, ex pects her fourth child in Feb ruary or early March. Margaret, who is 33, will have her baby in late April, a Kensington Palace announce ment said. The Duchess of Kent, 30, Alexandra's sister-in-law, is due to have her second child in May. Margaret and her husband, former photographer Lord Snowdon, "are delighted," their press secretary said. The couple are known to want a daughter as a companion to their son, David, Viscount Lin ley, who celebrated his second birthday Nov. 3. Friends said Margaret and her husband delayed the an nouncement of her pregnancy so as to give the other royal mothers-to-be their full share of the spotlight. The child will be seventh in line to succession to the throne, after the queen's four children, Princess Margaret nerseit ana her son. The children of Prin cess Alexandra and the Duchess of Kent will be even further down the line. Council Cancels Girl Scout Sings Girl Scout Sings scheduled for December have been cancelled according to an announcement from headquarters of the Rogue Valley Girl Scout Council. Only IW0 Main SOC Music Department Slates 'Messiah' Sunday ASHLAND - Handel's "Mes siah" will be presented by the music department of Southern Oregon College, Sunday, De cember 8 at 3 p.m. in the col lege gymnasium. Dr. Herbert Cecil, head of the college music department, will conduct the performance. Taking part in the "Messiah" will be the Southern Oregon Little Symphony Orchestra, the Messiah Chorus of 120 voices and four soloists. Soloists will be Virginia Ce cil, soprano; Adelaide Spencer, contralto; Ray Tumbleson, ten or; and Maynard Hadley, bass. Mrs. Cecil is supervisor of ele mentary vocal music in the Ashland public schools and has sung the soprano solos each year since these annual per formances were begun s l x years ago. Mrs. Spencer, now a resident of Weed, Calif., formerly lived in Ashland and sang the alto solos for several years while she was a resident here. Mr. Hadley, a resident of Medford, is well known to Southern Oregon residents for his many performances, both in previous presentations of the Messiah'' and in otner musical productions in the area. There will be no admission charge for this concert although an offering will be accepted lor the benefit of the music scholar ship fund.
