Sni der, former Medford mayor and organizer of the Sister City Com mittee. Snider, who was official guest at the Sister City's Truffle Fes tival in October, spoke of the history, industry, and mode of life in Alba. As a result of Snider's sugges tion, members of the Honor So ciety plan to exchange corre spondence with students of Eng lish in Alba during the coming months. Academic honors were an nounced by the Rev. John Keane, principal, at a school assembly recently. First honors, for a grade point average above 3.6, were earned by Annette Burich and Pat Fellers, seniors; Michelle Ely, Marilyn Fellers, Martha Fitzpatrick, Tara Hill, Stephanie Hollen, Mary Carol Leavens, Mike Stevenson, jun iors; Greg Hull and Susan Nau mes. sophomores; Sandra Hill, Eric Jensen, Doug Nelson, Ra- mona Kausch, Kathy Kentz, Su san Truly, freshmen. Foundation Gives Funds to Colleges Today, 532 privately support ed, coeducational and male lib eral arts colleges and univer sities receive checks totaling $90,500 from Household Finance Foundation, B. R. Marks, man ager at 128 E. Main St., an nounced. These checks ranged in. amount from $100 to $1,000 based upon the full-time en rollment of the individual col leges. Since 1956, when HFC estab lished its annual program of gifts, these have totaled more than $550,000. Checks are sent to all four year accredited col leges and universities in the 47 states in which Household Fi nance Corporation operates. In Oregon these include Cas cade, George Fox, Lewis and Clark, Mount Angel, Northwest Christian, Reed and Warner Pa cific Colleges, Pacific and Wil lamette Universities and the University of Portland.
