Talent Junior High PTA
Unit To Be Organized
TALENT An organizational
meeting for the purpose of form
ins a Talent Junior High School
Parent Teacher Association has
been announced for Thursday,
November 21 at 8 p.m., in the
Junior High School combination
room.
Ernest R. James, District 4
superintendent made the an
nouncement. This meeting will mark the
first time a separate building
PTA has been established in
the Phoenix district. Until this
time, PTA has been on the dis
trict level with one unit serv
ing all school and all children
in grades one through 12.
The organizational committee
headed by Mrs. Sam James has
expressed the opinion that a
separate unit will serve the stu
dents at this level more effec
tively and will be of greater
Interest and concern to parents
and teachers.
The committee's central idea
is that the students' best inter
ests demand a close working
relationship between the two
major influences in the student's
life, his homo and his school,
This relationship can be
strengthened through a parent-
teacher organization at the
school level, they concluded.
Parents of all children in the
school who want to Join this
new unit are invited to attend
the organizational meeting. The
committee has prepared a list
of proposed bylaws which will
be distributed and discussed.
After the discussion the group
will recess for refreshments and
membership enrollment which
will be followed by election of
officers.
