Allies Schedule
Meeting in Paris
LONDON (UPI)-Allied lead
ers have called a meeting in
Paris early next week to seek a
settlement of their differences
over East-West trade policies, au
thoritative diplomatic sources
said Tuesday.
The United States wants to
unify the West's credit terms in
dealing with the Soviet bloc.
Some allies fear such a move
will lead to a loss of sales to
the Communist nations.
The meeting, scheduled for
next Monday, will be held with
in the framework of the North
Atlantic Treaty Organization,
which has been keeping an eye
on trade with the Communist
bloc.
Undersecretary of State
George Ball, now in West Ger
many on his tour of European
capitals for preliminary inter
allied trade talks, was expected
to attend the Paris meeting.
