MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD. OREGON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1963 B 5 Edited by The Mail Tribune Advertising Department APPLIANCE SALES SETTING BRISK PACE. Manufacturers, distributors and dealers across the country report appliances this year are moving at a quick pace, states The Wall Street Jour nal. However, the outlook for 1964 and beyond is even better. Robert F. Brook, marketing man ager of Westinghouse's major appliance division calls it "a fantastic year," while Herman F. Leh man, vice-presient of General Motors Corp. and general manager of its Frigidaire division says 1963 will be "the greatest sales year in the history of the major appliance industry." Replacement pales is a noted factor in this surge of appliance sales. Last year, replacements were responsible for 71 of all refrigerator sales, 70 of washing machine sales and 69 of TV sales, according to Electrical Merchandising Week. This year, replacements are expected to be still higher. An other factor contributing to the sales increase is the growth of population, especially in the family forming and home furnishings age groups. MEDFORD ICE CREAM MAN Ice Cream, 415 No. Riverside.
