Mr. Bride Carries Family Bible " SHADY COVE When Miss Marcia Marlane Ackerman be came the bride of William Claude Chase, October 26 in Medford First Methodist church, she carried a white Bible which had been carried by her mother and her aunt at their weddings. The Rev. George Rosebcrry officiated for the 8 o'clock eve ning rites. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'Dale Stanley Ack erman Sr., Route 1, Box 20, Eagle Point and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Claude Chase, 5293 Table Rock Road, Central Point. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown designed with Chantilly lace bodice and silk crystaline skirt and chapel train of matching lace. A headpiece of lilies of the Valley held her fingertip length veil and with the Bible she car ried a cascade of red carna tions. Aunt Is Soloist ' Mrs. Albert Keith Krambeal, her aunt who also carried the Bible, was soloist for the wed ding. Miss Lola Ackerman was honor attendant for her sister, and Mrs. James Witt, Talent, a sister of the bridegroom was bridesmatron. Miss Paulctte Anderson was bridesmaid. The bride's attendants wore scarlet velveteen frocks with long fitted sleeves and full skirts. White velvet crowns held their scarlet veils and they carried white carnation nose gay bouquets. The flower girl's dress of white cotton 'with red polka dots was trimmed with red vel veteen, and she wore matching red velvet slippers. Her basket was filled with white chrysan themums. William Oldham, Sacramento, was best man and ushers were Mr. Witt, Dan Matteson, and Daniel Chase, Central Point, a cousin of the bridegroom. Candles were lighted by Dale Ackerman Jr., brother of the bride, and Leslie Krambeal, her cousin. The altar was decorated with white pompon chrysanthemums. Mrs. Charles Adamson was organist. Grandparents Attend The bride's mother wore a cranberry colored satin brocade sheath frock with jacket and the bridegroom's mother was dress ed in an ivory knit sheath dress. Both had orchid corsages. Guests at the wedding, and reception given by the bride's parents in the church recep tion rooms, included the bride's maternal grandparents, M r. and Mrs. James A. Mrs. Lyle Mattson, and Mrs. Eriek Johanson, aunts of the bride from Everett, Wash., and Mrs. Claude Chase and Mrs. Robert Chase, Central Point, aunts of the bridegroom, served the wedding cake. Miss Eda Larson, Shady Cove, registered the guests while Miss Judy Sanderson, Trail, presided at the gift table. The couple made their wed ding trip to southern points and returned October 31. They are living at 136 Oak Street, Central Point. For traveling the bride wore a beige Italian knit suit with orange accessories. The bride, a 1963 graduate of Eagle Point High School, is a past honored queen of Bethel 56, International Order of Job's Daughters, Shady Cove. She is employed in the Jackson Coun ty Curriculum Materials Cen ter. The bridegroom, who was graduated in 1961 from Crater High School, is employed at Medford Corporation. Out-of-town guests included George Mattson, Ronald and Dawn Marie Johanson, Everett, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen D. Ack erman, Joyce and David, aunt, uncle and cousins of the bride, Willits, Calif. Grandmothers of the bride served a buffet supper in the home of the bride's parents after the wedding rehearsal. Pre-nuptial showers were given by Mrs. Witt; and the Mesdames Donald Anderson, Herman Higday and Leroy Re gestcr in Eagle Point. Phone 772-8992 MEDFORD Ceremony At Church Weds Pair A number of Medford friends and relatives attended the wed ding of Mrs. Louise Walters, of 1425 East Park Street, Grants Pass, and Robert S. Patterson, of 502 Northeast Dean Drive, Grants Pass October 26. The Rev. John Martin offici ated at the 3 o'clock afternoon rites held at First Christian Church, Grants Pass. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. L. W. Da vison, 113 North Ivy Street, Med ford. Mr. Patterson s parents parents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Patterson, Glendale, Ore. Mrs. Martin played the organ wedding music and Miss Yvonne Mainard and Miss Particia Pat terson, daughter of the bride groom, sang a duct. Wears Blue The bride wore an afternoon length frock of blue satin with matching veiled hat. She car ried a white orchid and steph anotis on a white Bible. Mrs. Donald Dean attended the bride. She wore an apricot colored silk dress with white ac cessories and carried yellow rosebuds. 0. J. Crenshaw served as best man. Seating the guests were Milner Larson and F. I. Bristol. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the Bristol home on Rogue River Highway. Cohosts were Mr. and Mrs. Davison. Couple To Denver Mrs. Ray Stanley cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Claude Curran and Mrs. Hope Palmer presided at the punch bowls. Mrs. Albert Erwin was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. Milner Larson was at the gift table. The newlywed couple traveled to Denver, Colo., on their wed ding trip where they visited an other daughter of the bride groom, Miss Jeanne Patterson, a cr'lege student there. They returned to Grants Pass today and are making their home at 502 Northeast Dean Drive. Among the out of town guests in addition to the parents of the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Clark Davison, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sloll and W. H. Walker, all Medford. Ladies of Elks To Entertain Ashland Women Officers of the Medford La dies of Elks are making the plans for entertainment of the Ashland Ladies of Elks Tuesday, November 5 in the Elks club downstairs lounge. A social hour will begin the event at 11:30 a.m. and lunch eon is to be served at 12:30 p.m. Bridge, canasta and pinochle will be played during the after noon. Officers in charge are Mrs. C. Mitchell and Mrs. David B. Crosby. Couple Lives In Ontario BUTTE FALLS Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie D. Stone, whose marriage was an event of the summer, are living at Ontario, Ore. The bride is the former Miss Martha Hanna Dalton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Dalton, Butte Falls. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Ethel S. Parker, Ontario. The rites took place August 4 'n Reno, Ncv. Mr. Stone is sales manager of the Southern Oregon division of Home Readers' Service, which has state headquarters in Portland. A history of the order will be given by Mr. Ralph Lue, who holds the special appointment of history lecturer to the candi dates. The golden anniversary of the order is being observed this year, since it was founded in October 1913. Hatasu temple of Seattle, Wash., was the found ing group. Zuleima, the 13th temple, was granted its charter in 1922. Following the meeting, tea will be served. Mrs. Jack Wal ker, chairman of the tea com mittee, will be assisted by Mrs. John T. The Jacksons arrived for the Wednesday evening service to find more than 75 guests assem bled to greet them. Hosts for the occasion were Mr. Jackson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D.
