Bartleson (Owen photo) Holiday Rites Plan of Pair The engagement and forth coming marriage of Miss Jean Carol Hawley and Thomas Mich ael Bryan has been announced by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Z. Hawley, Rich land, Wash. The couple has planned their wedding for the holiday season, December 28, in Richland. The bride-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Bryan, 4140 Ce dar lane, Mcdford. Miss Hawley attended Univer sity of Washington and is a Rich land High school graduate. Her fiance attended Phoenix High school and is an electronic's technician in Navy submarine service stationed in San Fran cisco. Talent Woman Attends Opera TALENT Mrs. Henry De Voss, Route 1, Box 589, Talent, is to arrive home this evening from San Francisco where she has been since Friday to attend performances of the San Fran cisco Opera company. While there she has been a guest of her cousin, Mrs. Edwin Berger and Mr. Berger, with whom she attended "Aida," in which Leontyne Price sings the leading role, and "Cosi Fan Tuttl," with Elizabeth Schwarz kopf. I Newlyweds Are Honored Mr. and Mrs. Douglas G. Fish er, Mcdford Plaza apartments, whose marriage was an event of October 6 were honored recent ly at a wedding reception given by members of Bcrean Baptist church, White City. The bride is the former Miss Patricia Goltz. Also honored were the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin B. Goltz, 1532 Stratford way, Med- iord, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Fisher, Route 1, Box 190, Eagle Point. The members presented the couple with a gift and deaconess es of the church served refresh ments. Mrs. Adcle Cox poured coffee; Mrs. Donald Ullom pre sided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Dorothy Malloroy served the cake. The bridegroom is youth di rector at the church. The bride and bridegroom attended Mult nomah Bible school, Portland. At Coast ILLINOIS VALLEY - Mrs. Delbert Scott and children, Cave Junction, visited last week at the coast with her sister, Mrs. Joe Stow and family, formerly of Cave Junction. They also were in Brookings as guests o their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Robinson and family. Mr. Robinson is a former Kcrby resident. Mrs. Sven Sandberg, 225 Re. nault avenue, has returned from New Town, N. D., where she served as an attendant for her sister, Miss Elsie V. Todd, for merly of 251 Renault avenue, Mcdford when she became the bride of Elmer M. Bartleson, October 5. The ceremony was read in Gospel Tabernacle church at 7:30 o'clock in the evening by the Rev. Don Waggoner. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Anna Todd, Gettysburg, S. D., and the late H. W. Todd. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Anna Bartleson, New Town, and the late Carl Bartleson. The bride was given in mar riage by her brother, Arthur E. Todd, Gettysburg. She wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta with fitted bod ice, long sleeves and Sabrina neckline banded with scalloped lace, embroidered with irides cent sequins. The sequin band ing was repeated on the hem line of the softly controlled bell shaped skirt. She carried a cas cade of white roses. Two Attend Bride Mrs. Paul Wheeler, New Town was matron of honor for her sis ter, and Mrs. Sandberg was bridesmatron. They wore pink floor length gowns and their bouquets were of Canadian as ters. Leslie and Wesley Wheeler, twin nephews of the bride car ried the rings and Doris Wag goner was flower girl. Kristy Ann Wheeler, also a niece, was miniature bride, dressed in a gown similar to that worn by the bride. Paul Wheeler, New Town, was best man and Ordean Fossaa, Tioga, N. D., was groomsman. Earl Sathcrwaile and Ervin Ven'sch, both New Town, were ushers. The Rev. and Mrs. Waggoner sang and Mrs. William Amund son, Williston, N. D., was or ganist. Gladioli and chrysanthe mums decorated the church. Reception Held A reception followed in the so cial hall of Bethel Lutheran church. Miss Carol Waggoner took charge of the guest book and Mrs. D. U. Peterson, and Mrs. Charles Austin, served the wed ding cake. Mrs.- Ronelly Todd, Onida, S. D.. was at the punch bowl and Mrs. Larry Mayes, Pierre, S. D., poured coffee. Miss Rosemary Austin served at the bridal table and Mrs. Arlo Lubke and Miss Darlcne Lubke, Parshall, N. D., had charge of gifts. Other relatives at the cere mony from Oregon were Mr. and Mrs. Mclvin Todd, McMinn villc, aunt and uncle of the bride. The bride, until her marriage. had been a legal secretary for Brophy, Wilson and Duhaime, Medford law firm, for eight years. She is a graduate of Get tysburg High school. The bridegroom, a rancher, was graduated from Sanish, N. D.. High school The couple will live in New Town on returning from their wedding trip to Canada. 40-Year Members To Be Honored Olive Rebekah lodge will hon or 40-year members at their Monday, October 21 meeting in the IOOF hall on Sixth street, Medford. Mrs. LeRoy Cline, noble grand, will preside. Officers are to wear formal dress. The committee will be Mrs. J. D. Brummond, chairman; Mrs. H. J. Mang and Mrs. Ada laid Brown. Wilderville PTA Carnival Slated WILDERVILLE The annual . and costume parade, a number Wilderville Parent Teacher as sociation carnival has been an nounced for Saturday, October 26 in Wilderville school. In addition to a cake walk of new features have been add ed, according to Robert Stalcup, who announced the event. Mrs. George Smith will assist. A food booth will be included. 1 pj Army Capt. and Mrs. Donald E. Titus will make their home in Massachusetts following their wedding October 15 in San Francisco. Mrs. Titus Is the former Miss Joan Bcasley, Jackson county home extension agent for 4-H for the past two years. The couple Is driving to the northeast via the southern states. Donald E. Titus in a ceremony held Tuesday, October 15, at the Presidio Post chapel in San Francisco, Calif. Miss Bcasley, who has been making her home at 1801 Prune street, Medford, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Beasley, Stuttgart, Ark. Cap tain Titus is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Titus, Newton, Mass. Lt. Col. Vincent Nelson, post chaplain, officiated at the four o'clock afternoon rites. White and gold chrysanthemums deco rated the chapel. The bride wore a tailored brown wool two piece dress i with amber jewelry. Her cor sage was a white orchid. Mrs. Donald R. Pastella, Mon terey, Calif., was matron of honor.
