When it comes to advertising a flea market, nothing
could be better than a dog. This was the conclusion
of Junior Service league members, who plan to stage
a little parade down town one day this week to focus
attention on the mammoth International Flea Market
which they will hold October 25, 26 and 27 at the
armory to raise funds for philanthropic projects. Lead
ing Snorkel, the dachshund, is tittle Tina Mickelsen,
daughter of the Charles Mickelsons, 1804 Niedermeyer
drive, and Sidney, the basset hound belongs to Geoff
rey Vevera, whose parents, the Frank Veveras, are
neighbors of the Mickelsons.
Since the idea of the Flea Market part bazaar, part rummage sale, carnival and fun
fair was born in the minds of Junior Service league members, many of them
have been hard at work with knitting needles and yarn. On sale will be the result
of their efforts, hand-knit sweaters with matching skirt lengths In mom and tot
sizes, mittens,, caps, handmade toys and a variety of other articles. Mrs. Gilbert
Tumy, league member, poses hers with, part of the clothing and toys. . .
