He met with reporters last Wednesday, Restrictions Set On Methyl Bromide SALEM Methyl bromide Without a warning agent has been added to the list of pesti cides restricted to commercial use by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. The order, which becomes ef fective Nov. 1. wan ksnwt , last week following a Sept. 25 I Hearing on the department's proposal to place the fumigant on the restricted list, which pro hibits its being registered for sale or distribution for home or garden use. Methyl bromide Is used tn fu-, migate ships, warehouses, grain storage and horticulture prodj ucts. It has no distinct odor of its own and the department feels it Is too dangerous for home or garden use without a warning gas. This warning gas is usually i chloropicrin (tear gas).
