A teacher for the class, who can also offer leather tooling, will be available soon, it was staled, but until then the group will meet as a workshop. Mrs. Hermine Beucema will be host ess. The oil painting class meets Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The r.rt class, under the di rection of Mrs. Nettie Williams, worked on perspective in both color and line last week. Mrs. Sadie Cogshill, a former class member, brought some of her drawings at the request of Mrs. Williams, to illustrate the talk. During the afternoon Mrs. Beu cema served refreshments. Mrs. Agnes Sowers, Gold Hill, will be the hostess on Tuesday. Thursday mornings have been reserved for the shuftleboard teams, but the beginning date has not been announced. The Senior Center orchestra practices each Thursday after noon. Seniors who would like to learn or freshen up their con tract bridge, may join the bridge group each Saturday afternoon. The Singing Seniors will meet at the center on Sunday after noons as soon as a song leader is secured. Before sewing plastic mate rial, rub a little talcum on the needle to prevent sticking. JACKSON ACRES OF FREE Reception At Church Honors Medford Couple Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brooks, 208 North Peach street, observed their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, September 22, with a reception at the fel lowship hall of First Christian church, Medford. The event was planned by the couple's three children, Arthur Brooks, Klamath Falls, and Lane Brooks, Empire, and their wives, and Mrs. Holland Franz man, Inglewood, Calif., and Mr. Franzman. Mrs. Brooks were a three piece blue brocade dress for the reception and a white orchid corsage, a gift from her chil dren. The rooms were decorated with chrysanthemums in fall shades, gold candles, white bells, gold leaves, colored cat tails, asters, gladioli, fall leaves and the nurnber 50 in gold. Mrs. Arthur Brooks did the decora tions and Mrs. Franzman made and decorated the anniversary cake, which was encircled with green and white carnations. Mrs. Franzman cut and served the cake and Mrs. Lane Brooks poured coffee. The Misses Jeralynn Brooks, Klamath Falls, and Carolyn Brooks, Empire, Baptist Women Election Set; Plan Program Election of officers for the Women's fellowship, First Bap tist church, will be conducted Tuesday, October 8 at 12:30 p.m., in the Fireside room of the church, 649 Crater Lake av enue. Martha, Linda and Robbie Franzman, all Inglewood, Calif., played an instrumental arrangement of "Anniversary Waltz" accompa nied by Mrs. Nathan Wood worth, Gleed, Wash., cousin of Mr. Brooks. Miss Jeralynn Brooks, another granddaughter, played two piano selections and Mrs. Woodworth played the background music during the afternoon. Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Laylon, Mrs. William Canfield, Seattle, Wash., cousins and aunt of Mr. Brooks; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Franzman and children, Cheryl, Richard, and Tom; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Franzman, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Huffman and daughters, Heidi and Lori, and Geri Gillette, all Inglewood, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. John Bar rong and Mr. and Mrs. S. John ston, Glendale, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. John Houston, and son Tim, Winston; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stephens and son Brent, Lakeview; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wickersham, Mrs. Gordon Grow, and son Steven, W. C. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks were married September 24, 1913, at the First Christian church in Wenatchee, Wash. They moved to Oregon in 1928, first living in Klamath Falls before moving to Medford in 1958 when Mr. Brooks retired from the Great Northern Railroad. Mrs. Brooks, a native of Eng land, came to the United States in her late teens. Church Women List Officers Mrs. James Davidson was elected president of the Re La Da Sa Women's group of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when the group met re cently in the home of Mrs Da vidson, 4184 Hilsinger road. Miss Gladys Goulet was elect ed secretary and Mrs. Paul Purccll is the new treasurer. Year books for 1963-64 were discussed and a committee was appointed to complete them. A rummage sale was planned for October 11 in the church at Tenth and h7 streets. Mrs. Isa bolle Miller was appointed to complete them. The next regular meeting will be October 17. Tiller Circle Meetings Begin TILLER Women's Mission ary circl e of South Umpqua Community church resumed meetings last week after a sum mer recess, r und-raising proj ects include a bazaar and baked food sale, and a chicken dinner. Head Honored Mrs. T. H. Gerety, executive director of the Rogue council, Camp Fire Girls, for the past seven yers was honored Octo ber 1 at a testimonial dinner given in the Ashland Country club. She recently resigned form the position but will continue as a leader of a Horizon CFB club. About 35 guests attended the event and Mrs. Gerety was pre sented a silver tray and silver candlestick holders by members of the board, committee mem bers and CFG leaders. N. H.
