Mr. Rickman was born Sept. 13, 1889, at Pomeroy, Wash., and had lived in southern Ore gon for the past 22 years. He was a veteran of World War I, serving from Oct. 6. 1917, to Aug. 7, 1919. in the U.S. Army. He was married May 14, 1925, in Post Falls, Ida., to Minnie I G. PAUL THELEN Private funeral services for Paul Thelen, 66, of 1200 Murray St., who died Tuesday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in ConRer Morris downtown chap el. The Rev. Gerald Nelson of the First Methodist church will officiate. Committal will be pri vate. Mr. Thelen was born May 23, 1897, in Lismore Township, Minn., and had lived in south ern Oregon for the past 17 years, and worked 10 years as maintenance carpenter at the White City VA Domiciliary. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in Troop H, 7th Cavalry. He was married Aug. 8, 1938, in Milbank, S.D.. to Amanda Moline, who survives. Other survivors include six brothers, Matt Thelen, Mora, Minn.; Val Thelen, Duluth, Minn.; Bernard Thelen, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; Norbert Thelen, Everett, Wash.; Henry Thelen, Alameda, Calif.: and Jerry Thelen, Frazer, Minn.: and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Swirtf, Min neapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Lucia Paulsen, Oakland, Calif. Painting, Suitcase Found in California One of the oil paintings and a suitcase reported lost by an artist between Mt. Shasta, Calif., and Winston, Ore., have been found, state police said this morning. Robert Ki Suk Han, Pacific Grove, Calif., reported he lost IS oil paintings valued at ap proximately $15,000 while he was traveling north on Highway 99. He said he also lost an alli gator suitcase with the paintings from the cartop carrier. Harvey Palmer, Fort Jones, Calif., notified the California highway patrol that he found one painting and a brown sam sonite suitcase on the highway. The highway patrol notified Ore gon state police. Roes sler, 217S Crestbrook rd., Med ford firemen reported. They said the bed, against the wall, ignited when a thermostatically-controlled electric wall heater turned on. Heavy smoke and heat damage also were reported. Firemen were summoned about 8:35 o'clock this morning. Damage in a fire yesterday morning at the residence of Ralph D. Snodgrass, 618 Park Place No. 5, was confined to smoke and a two by four-foot burned area in the ceiling.
