MKL'KOKl), 1st Baptists to Start Contest The First Baptist church. 649 Crater Lake ave., will start a Sunday School contest Sunday that will last for six weeks and will be in competition with the Bethel Baptist church, Phoenix, Ariz. The goal is to see which Sun day school can show the great est percentage of increase in at tendance over the previous year. The two schools will call each other on alternate Sundays re porting attendance and percent age increase. The theme of the contest in Medford will be "We're Hunting For You." A game commissioner has been appointed and game war dens for each department of the school. Dear Tags will be pin ned on each new person brought to the Sunday school. "Hunting" licenses are being issued to each member of the Sunday school and prizes will be given. Sunday at 11 a.m. the Rev. Bernard E. Andrews will speak on the "Convicting Work of The Holy Spirit. The chapel choir will sing and the Rev. Byron Evans will be soloist. The Sunday evening service is being advanced one-half hour to 7 p.m. Mr. Andrews' message will be "The Gospel of Grace; Ephesians." The trumpet trio will play and Miss Linda Scott will sing. A new adult training class in Sunday School Evangelism will begin Sunday at 6 p.m. The course is offered through the Evangelical Teacher Training association and certificates are awarded upon completion. New Bible School Year at GH Church GOLD HILL-Sunday at 9:45 a.m. will be the start of the new Bible school year at Gold Hill Christian Church Sunday school. It has been designated as Surprise Sunday. Dewey V, Jeffrey, minister of the church will give the sermon message and the newly organ ized church trio will sing during the worship hour. The enlargement campaign committee includes Mrs. LeHoy Calkins, Lester Marsh and Mur ray Woolfotd. In the morning service Mrs. Loyal Smith will sing. The pas tor, the Rev. Roland Stewart, will speak on "Deny Yourself." During the 6 p.m. family hour, Ihe Christian Youth Crusaders will meet in their department, with the program by Kathleen Marsh. Educators to Talk To Ministers Dr. Elliott Beckon, assistant superintendent of Medford schools, and William Williams of the Citizens Advisory commit tee, will speak at the Medford Ministerial association meeting Tuesday, Oct. fl. The speakers' topic will be "Current Development in the Medford Public School System."
