Dr. Pond said, and ex pressed surprise when told that Medford also does not have this pre-school training. He said that public kindergartens have been the subject of controversy in the Eugene district since 1911. Chiding Medford for its fool ball reputation, the speaker said, "We can't even get ninth grade football going in Eugene." Announces Speaker Preceding Dr. Pond's address, H. P. A system developed by Pick er X-Ray corporation for Mc Donnell Aircraft corporation, Gemini prime contractor, en ables engineers to "see inside" key components of the Gemini while they are in operational testing. Sitting before a view ing screen, the engineer can study an "in-motion" x-ray image of the inner workings of a liquid oxygen valve as it shuts and opens. He can peer intent ly at tiny leaf springs and mag nets hidden inside sealed relay switches, watch them as they click alternately into "on" and "off" position and make sure they will properly perform their assigned function.
