EAGLE POINT - Henley

final quarter Friday night to
nip the Eagle Point Eagles 14
to 13 in a Rogue league football
game at Henley.
Eagle Point with markers in
the first and second periods had
a 13 to 0 halftime lead.
Kim Hale scored first for Hen

Lewis journeyed 30 yards to the
goal. Bill Fisher ran one bonus
and Lewis kicked the other that
meant the victory margin.
Eagle Point drove 80 yards in
11 plays to the goal in the open

from three yards away. A 60
yard run by Dale Chamberlain
had been nullified by a pushing
penalty during this drive.
Bob Colpitis in the second
quarter sneaked over from a
yard out and passed to Cham
berlain for an extra point. Cham
berlain set up the score with a
pass interception run from the
Henley 45-yard line to the 14.
S Quarters, 3 Minutes
"Our kids did real well," said
Eagle Coach Vern Steward.
"They showed improvement
with crisp tackling and sharp
Mocking for three quarters and
three minutes." He reported
that Bill Ayres was removed
from the game at that point for
"being a little too aggressive."
"We had them on the run
until then," said Steward, "and
then everything went bad."
The coach remarked that the
Eagles were hurt by penalties
and fumbles. "We have elim
inated the gross errors," he re
ported, "and are down to the
little ones. We may be a spoil
er." Steward cited the line defense
of Dan Loper, Ayres, Morgan
Miller, Dave Blair and Dan
Colcleaser and pass defense of
House and Colpitis. He said that
Chamberlain, Bob Corliss and
Vic Eccleston demonstrated im
proved performance with key
slops.
On offense Miller was steady
si center and guard Blair and
hacks Chamberlain and House
did good blocking work. Blair
was effective against Roger Var

Powers
Trojans
overdose in a Rogue league
football starter here. Phoenix,
powerful and ranked No. 1
among Oregon's Class A-2 ag
gregations, was just too much
for the team from Klamath

ned the Trojans by a score of
60 to 6.
With the help of a 65-yard
kickoff runback by Jon Granby,
the Buccaneers had a touchdown
in the first minute of the tussle.
They had three more by quar
ter's end for a count of 27 to 0.
It was 40 to 6 at halftime and
47 to 6 when intermission No.

61-Yard March
Granby's runback was to the
11-yard line and Jim Consbruck
boomed from there for the first
of his three touchdowns. Gran
by ran the conversion try. Den
nis Grennan smashed the last
yard of a 64-yard promenade
and again Granby bucked the
extra.
Dale Sauer scored on a seven
yarder after a pass interecepted
by Lloyd Campbell. Consbruck
took a pass from Ron Williams
for 21 yards and a goal and
Mike Graham made the first of
three extra point kicks.
In the second quarter Lex
Hamilton wrestled the ball from
a Trojan after a pass had been
completed. Ramon Mata fell on
the pigskin to set the stage for a
54-yard sally. Ken Hawkins
scored on a five yard keep.
A Hawkins to Sauer pass was
good for 39 yards to set another
TD stage. Sauer went the last
half-yard with 21 seconds left
and Grahams kick was good.
Hill Intercepts
In the third period Eugene
Hill snared a Scared Heart pass
on the Trojan 39. Graham went
around end to the goal and
thumped the extra counter.

New Chevrolets are a lot more truck than your money bought
the last time. Here are some of the things that have been done
to give you more value for practically the same investment.
Double-wall construction. This feature of
Chevrolet cabs and the Flnetside pickup
body has two advantages. Insulation and
sound-deadening material is sandwiched
between the two layers of steel in the cab
to give you more comfort,; in the body,
the inner wall acts as a buffer against load
damage, preserving the outer appearance
of the truck.
Suspension to fit tha truck. You get a
much better ride in every size Chevrolet
truck today than you used to.
Conventional half-and three-quarter-ton
models have independent front suspension
with variable pitch coils in the rear.
Variable pitch coils do not "bottom out"
as readily.
Mediums and heavies have I-beam sus

and vice versa. It, means a smoot her, flatter

Th right engine. Chevrolet has been
building truck engines since 1918 but never
has it been in better position to give you
the type and size you need for maximum
efficiency. Today there are many different,
rapacities of gasoline and diesel Chevrolet
truck engines fours, sixes, V8's.
Stronger frames. F.very conventional l!lfi4
