Lace is lavishly used: over laying, with parfait effect, a solid fabric: banding the legs of a pantie girdle: in a clipped version, forming bra cups; as a stretch fabric, becoming a control panel. Spandex appears in all types of shapemakers, from the mer est pantie briefs for junior sizes to the most amply pro portioned corselets. Foundations Snug Bands of elastic, both woven and knitted, aid in keeping foundations snug to the figure and in controlling problem areas: they border three-quarter and long line brassieres, high-rising girdles, pantie gir dles stretching near the knee. Ribbons, too, serve both dec orative and functional uses: pleat effects are achieved through the use of stitched tricot or marquisette. Garter grips are smaller, zippers thin ner, buckles slimmer, hooks and eyes color-keyed.
