Right now the bees are hard at work on the sixth comb in the series. Bee Man Joe Oswald, a native of Jackson county, who called the oddity to the attention of the Mail Tribune, says he has never before observed bees work "out in the open" in this area, although bees have been known to do this in Arizona. "Flanagan, me boy," said Dooley, "you're just in time to come to McGrath's wake "Vf with me." "A fine idea," allowed Flanagan, but I never had the pleasure of your friend McGrath's ac quaintance." Dooley assured Flana gan that this made no difference whatever, and the two reeled into Mc Grath's homestead, where a rousing wake was 'pro ceeding full-blast Flan agan just made the grand nianrfc in th& front rjarlor' when his legs gave way beneath him. As he sank down, his jaw gave the ivory keys of the; piano a terrific jolt. He looked at them wide-ejd, then, turned to his friend Dooley, and said in tones of soft admiration, "It's true that I never saw McGrath in real life, but I must say he had a wonder ful set of teeth!" .
