OREGON Hornbrook Guest Departs for Home HORNBROOK - Mrs. Ruth Vettle, who has been a house guest of Mrs. Allie Tyrer the past two weeks, left Monday for Oakland, Calif, where she plans to visit her brother, Elmer Wil liams, and friends. Mrs. Vettle lived for many years in Oakland where her daughter, Thelma Vettle. at tended high school and college. She plans to return to her home in Washington, D. C, after her visit in the Bay area. Medford Altrusa Club Honors Grant Winner Pictures and Classes Scheduled at Center Pictures of the blue grass re gion near Lexington, Ky Bryce Canyon National Park and Mon terey peninsula will be shown Monday during the meeting of the Arm Chair Travelers at the Senior Activity center, 601 East ter Jackson street. Mrs. Gerald E. Cronk. 141 North First street, Talent, will show the pictures at 1 p.m. In eluded will be many pictures of flowers. Prior to the Arm Chair Trav elers meeting, the Spanish class will hold its third session under the direction of Mrs. Alicia Car ter, who is giving the group in struction o n conversational phrases. Beginners are wel come, as well as those who al ready have some knowledge of the language. Men Assist The men in the Spanish class assist Frank Gray in setting up the chairs for the class, then re arranging it for the afternoon program. From 3 to 5 p.m. Monday the knitting class will resume after the summer vacation. Mrs. Ed ward Barnett will instruct the class. Those attending who are new to the course are to lake knitting needles, yarn or a pat tern they wish to follow. For mer members are also to take a knitted article to show the new members. Mrs. Nellie Williams will teach the oil painting class. The class, which started last week, is still open to beginners. A re view in mixing paints and color charts will be given the first half hour of the session the remainder is ' spent painting. The class starts at 1 p.m. and members may paint all after noon if they wish. The group usually has a short coffee hour with members taking turns in furnishing the cookies or cake.
