SKPTEMBEK 22. 1M3 Many Relatives Attend Service ASHLAND - When Nancee Burns and Wallace Girard were married September 1 in St, Johns Catholic church, Duns- muir, Calif., many of the bride's Ashland relatives were in at tendance. The new Mrs. Girard is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth E Burns of Dunsmuir. Her husb.nd's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Girard, Dunsmuir. Both young people are students at Chico State college where they now make their home. Traveling to Dunsmuir for the wedding were Mrs. Nelle Burns and Mrs. Vern Hastings, grand mothers of the bride; her aunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Krug; her uncle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Burns, and Mr. and Mrs. George Ward and son. Two cousins, Angela and Leonard Krug, were junior members of the bridal party. The nuptial rites performed by Monsignor James Casey were followed by a reception in the Dunsmuir hotel hosted by he parents of the couple. Wedding Date Is Announced Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wells, Los Lunas, N. M., have announced the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Carolyn Rozanne Wells, to Von Melvin Chesnut, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard M. Chesnut, 3747 Hil singer road, Medford. The wedding is set for October 19 in the Church of Christ, Phoe nix, Ore. Miss Wells is a 1960 Ashland High school graduate and at tended San Jose Bible college and Southern Oregon college. She now is employed in the U.S. Forest service offices at Silver City, N.M. The bridegroom-elect, a Phoe nix High school graduate is a Southern Oregon college senior. He is majoring in education. He also is employed by Tim ber Products company. JJL Mrs. James R. The bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. K. E. Upchurch, 649 Park street, Ashland. The bride, given in marriage by her grandfather, George Barry, Berkeley, Calif., wore a floor length gown of white bridal satin made by her mother. The strapless bodice was covered with an Alencon lace jacket hav ing long pointed sleeves edged with pearls. A lace panel ex tended down the front of her bell skirt that fell to a chapel train. A crown of white satin trimmed with pearls held her veil of illusion net which was bordered by lace flowers match ing the lace of her gown. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. Her bouquet was a cascade of white stephanotis centered with a white orchid. Attend Bride ' i Miss Marci Pagni, San Ansel mo, Calif., was honor attendant, with Miss Leslie Uchida, Berk eley; Miss Janet Miller, Duns muir, Calif., and Miss Ellin Miller, Hornbrook, serving as bridesmaids. The Misses Miller are cousins of the bridegroom. Miss Pagni's dress was of white crystaline with blue roses and chiffon ovcrskirt of cotillion blue. The bridesmaids wore blue satin frocks with overskirts of white chiffon and blue roses. Their headdresses were of cotil lion blue with pale blue short veils. Each carried a bouquet of white carnations tied with blue ribbon streamers. Candlelightor was Paul Aft ring, cousin of the bridegroom, and flower girl was the bride's three-year-old cousin, Kelly Barry, whose dress matched that of the maid of honor. Tim othy Barry, the bride's cousin, was ring bearer. Robert Miller Jr., the bride groom's cousin, served as best man and ushers were William Aftring Jr. and Larry Miller, Dunsmuir, also cousins, and the bride's brother, Barry Peter son, Concord. Cousin Sings Robert Miller Jr. sang two numbers accompanied by the church organist, Mrs. Imogcne McCoy, who also played the wedding marches. Tall baskets of white gladioli and pompon chrysanthemums accented with blue bows stood on cither side of the candle lighted chancel. A reception in the Caesar room of the Mark Antony hotel followed the church ceremony. Those assisting were Mrs. Ger ald Barry, the bride's aunt, who cut the wedding cake assisted by the bridegroom's aunt, Mrs. Errol Miller. Mrs. Robert Mil ler was in charge of the guest book and Mrs. William Aftring arran"'1 the gifts. Both arc aunts of the bridegroom. His cousins. Miss Rita Gae Beam. Stockton. Calif., and Mrs. Rob ert Miller Jr. presided at the punch bowls. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. McQuat wore a two-piece beige brocade dress with fur trim and matching accessories and a fur trimmed hat. Her cor sage was of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Upchurch, mother of the bride groom, chose a pink silk jacket ensemble with matching acces sories and accented by a fuch- Miss Scott Bride of John Reeder CENTRAL POINT-Miss Wal da Georgina Scott, daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Scott, San Fran cisco, became the bride of John Charles Reeder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Reeder, Cen tral Point, in a ceremony Sep tember 6 at Gold Hill Communi ty Methodist church. The Rev. Lochlen Gregory of ficiated at the double ring rites held at eight o'clock in the evening. Mrs. John Rocheleau, Clovis, N. M., attended her sister. Best man was Gerald Reeder, Sandy, j Utah, brother of the bridegroom. Kathleen Starks, Pasadena, Calif., served as flower girl for her aunt and Lauren McDougall, Ashland, cousin of the bride groom, was ringbearer. Mrs. Dennis Starks, Pasade na, sister of the bride, was solo ist. She was accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Grace Bruce, Gold Hill. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the church. The couple traveled in Oregon on their wedding trip, and are making their home at 303 North Fir street, Medford. Pair To Wed In November Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kumas, 1610 Johnson street, announce the engagement and forthcom ing marriage of their daughter, Janet, to Thomas Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl K. Walt er, 1242 Bens lane. Medford. The wedding is scheduled for November 2 at St. Peter's Lu theran church. Miss Kumas is a graduate from Jefferson Union High school in Daly City, Calif., and is employed by Cherry Lane Golf corporation. Mr. Walter was graduated from Excelsior Union High school in Norwalk, Calif, and is employed by Med ford Neon Signs Inc. sia hat the same shade as her rosebud corsage. A three-piece brown and beige knit suit with accessories to match was worn by the bride when the couple left for their wedding trip to southern Cali fornia. Her corsage was the white orchid from her bridal bouquet. Upon their return Mr. and Mrs. Beam will make their home at 467 Normal avenue while Mr. Beam continues his studies at Southern Oregon college. Mr. and Mrs. Steven R. Underwood nderzuood-Ingram Ceremony Takes Place Marriage Announced News of interest here is the marriage of Frankie B. Howard, formerly of 1027 Reddy street, Medford, and Dale C. Hale, Cen tral Valley, Calif., which was an event of September 8 in Reno, Nev. The ceremony was performed in the Golden Wedding chapel. Attending the rites were Wil liam G. Howard, Medford, son of the bride: Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Hcdstrom, San Francisco, son-in-law and daughter of the bridegroom, and Donald Hale, a son of the bridegroom, Central Valley. The couple is living in Central Valley. The bridegroom is a federal employee at Shasta dam. The bride, a lifetime resident of Medford, was employed in Ace Roofing company offices, until her marriage. She previ ously was employed here as a dental assistant and she is a Medford High school graduate, uatc. Family members and close friends of the couple attended the wedding recently of Miss Vicki Anne Ingram, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Ingram. 1457 Whitman avenue, and Steven F. Underwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Fred Under wood, 1369 Kings highway. The ceremony was held Sep tember 8 at Zion Lutheran church with the Rev. Harvey C. Coovert officiating. Some 60 per sons witnessed the double ring rites held at three o'clock in the afternoon. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a white sheer wool suit and a flat bow headdress held her short veil. Her accessories were gold and her single strand of pearls was a gift from the bridegroom. Miss Marthanne Goodwin at tended the bride. She wore a green satin sheath dress with matching accessories. David Underwood served as best man for his brother and seating the guests was John In gram, brother of the bride. Dell Ingram, another brother, light ed the candles. Mrs. Paul Evansen played the organ wedding music and ac companied Mrs. Ralph Mat lack, soloist. Gold and bronze dahlias and chrysanthemums decorated the church. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed at the church, Mrs. Ingram chose a gold brocade sheath dress and a corsage of bronze chrysan themums. Mrs. Underwood wore a gold silk print sheath dress with yellow feathered chrysan themum corsage. Mrs. R. S. Ilinman, aunt of the bridegroom, cut and served the wedding cake, and Mrs. N. K. Porter, another aunt, poured coffee. Miss Sue House presided at the punch bowl and Miss Linda Nash was in charge of the guest book. The newlyweds traveled to Crater Lake on their wedding trip and arc making their home in Corvallis where the bride is a freshman and the bridegroom a junior at Oregon State uni versity. Both the bride and bridegroom are graduates of Medford High school and Mr. Underwood was employed dur ing the summer at Timber Pro ducts company. Among the wedding guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Ingram and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Dclancy, grandparents of the bride from Tacoma, and A. B. Drury, Med ford, grandfather of the bride groom. Also here for the wed ding were Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Ingram and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Dclaney Jr., relatives of the bride from Tacoma. Wavne Chipman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Chipman, 1808 lloxy Ann Place, has returned to Alaska Methodist University in Anchorage, Alaska, wncre He is a sophomore majoring in mathematics. Couple Names Wedding Date Mr. and Mrs. w. L, Jasmann, 2445 Finley lane, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Carolyn Jasmann, to Jack D. McJunkin, Medford, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. McJunkin, Klamath Falls. The bride - elect is a graduate of Medford High school and has attended Robertson s school of Business. She is employed in the downtown Newberry store. The wedding is planned for November 23 at 8 p.m., in First Methodist church.
