Music Final Link Ready In Radar System FYLINGDALES MOOR, Eng land (UPI) The free world's alarm system against surprise attack by Russian rockets went into full operation Tuesday with the opening of the final link in a billion dollar radar chain. The $120 million Fylingdales base, built in this national park by the U.S. Air Force and the Royal Air Force, closed the last radar pathway over the top of the world from Russia to t h e United States and its NATO al lies. Fylingdales completes t h e Ballistics Missile Early Warn ing System (BMEWS) launched by the United States six years ago. Its two companion stations Thule in Greenland and Clear in Alaska have been oper ational for more than two years.
