More than 125 guests witnessed the 7:30 o'clock evening cere mony performed by Justice of the Peace Norman Matteson, Gold Hill. The bride, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lewis DeLuca, Delta, Colo., is a graduate of Phoenix, Ore. high school and has been a student at Southern Oregon college. The bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter DeBoer, 760 Clay street, Ashland. After gradua ing from Ashland High school he attended Stanford university at Palo Alto, Calif., and Stan ford in Florence, Italy. He has enrolled this fall at the Univer sity of Oregon. Wears Organza The bride wore a floor length gown of white organza over taf feta with slender basque effect, Sabrina neckline accented with sequins and long tapered sleeves. A miniature princess crown of seed pearls and crys tals held her elbow length silk illusion net veil. She carried a cascade of carnations and ste phanotis in blue and white and a lace handkerchief given her by the bridegroom's moth e r. Mr. DeLuca gave his daughter in marriage. Bridal attendants were Miss Patricia Ann Del uca, the bride's sister, and Miss Janice Gay De Boer, sister of the bridegroom, who were gowned alike in blue bridal satin dresses made with bell skirts and scoop necklines. They wore matching satin head pieces with float veils and each carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations. Brother Best Man Mr. DeBoer had as best m:in his brother, Robert DeBoer. John Leslie Hirons, Eugene, his brother - in-law, usherai guests to their seats. Miss Barbara Clinton was soloist and Miss Caroline Bee son of Talent played the organ. Garden flowers decorated the ball room and were used about the patio where a reception was held immediately after the cere mony. The wedding cake was made and cut by Miss Diane Booher, Curtin, Ore., cousin of the bridegroom, and also served were the groom's cake made by the bridegroom's mother and Italian pastries which the bride's mother had made. Miss Linda Davis and Mifs Barbara Nisle served punch and Mrs. Philip Holt, Creswell. aunt .of the bridegroom, presid ed at the coffee urn. Miss Clin ton and Miss Beeson supervised the gift table and the bride groom's sister, Mrs. John L. Hirons, was in charge of the guest book. For their two - week motor trip to Victoria, B.C. by way of the coast Mrs. DeBoer wore a pink and white linen tailored suit with iridescent accessories. Her mother's silk suit was of tangerine and white with match ing hat and white accessories. Mrs. DeBoer chose a beige and blue ensemble with beige acces sories. Bnh wore white carna tion corsages. Mrs. William Bigham, president, is in charge of all-over plans. Fashions from Jean Hart's shop will be modeled and this year Gibson's saddlery of the Cascade Shopping center, will provide a wide variety of west ern apparel, including tradition al riding habits, squaw and square dance dresses. Mrs. Carl Wimberly Jr., will be the commentator. Mrs. Armin Richtcr is the chairman assisted by M r s. Bruce Merickel. Mrs. Leon Of fenbacher has charge of dec orations. Mrs. Martin Grier and her four children will open the show with family fashions. Teen age models will be Miss Mary Ann Bush, Miss Donna Hammond and Miss Linda Gibson. Others who are to model are Mrs. Richard Ireland, Mrs. E. P. Stalun. Mrs. LeRoy Offcn bacher and Mrs. Rolland Smith. Ashland Pair To Fly East ASHLAND - Dr. P. Malcolm Hammond and Mrs. Hammond expect to fly to New York Sep tember 17 where Mrs. Ham mond will attend a four-day ses sion of the Woman's Division of Christian Service of the Metho dist church. The Ashland minister and his wife have plans for visiting with their son, Dr. Phillip E. Ham mond, and family at North Haven, Conn. Dr. Hammond is a member of the sociology fac ulty of Yale university, New Ha ven. Other visits include s few days in Allentown, Pa. with Mrs. Hammond's brother, Em mett Mohr. Clay, Jackson ville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Patricia Ann Clay, to Duane Catlett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eston Catlett, 828 West Second street, Medford Miss Clay is a 1963 graduate of Medford High school and will attend Southern Oregon college this fall. Mr. Catlett completed high school in California, attended business college in Phoenix, Ari zona and is presently in the armed forces. No wedding date has been set. 'VlcGee, 2410 Stearns way. Miss Evans is employed at Lerner shops, Medford Shopping center and her fiance is station ed at Sheppard Air Force base, Tex. He is an airman third class. Scout Returns From Jamboree Terry Hinesly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hinesly, 1032 Mur ray street, has returned to his home after visiting with friends and relatives in t h e eastern United States following the Boy Scouts World Jamboree in Greece. Young Hinesly returned to New York City August 20 and visited the Robert Duncan fam SW$wf " 1 ily in Washington, D.C. From there he traveled to the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Beardsley in Detroit where he visited for several days and traveled with them in Canada. Luncheon Slated By Social Club Reames Social club will hold the first luncheon of the year on Wednesday, September 18, at 12 noon at the Masonic temple. Members having birthdays in July, August and September will be honored. A short business mocnting will be conducted by Mrs. William Hatzi, president. Mrs. Ilatzi will announce her projects for the year. Chairman for the luncheon is Mrs. Esther Coleman, assisted by Mrs. George Wimnr, Mrs. Carrie Walters and Mrs. Don ald Chase. There will be cards for those who desire to stay after the meeting. All members of Eastern Star are invited to attend. Neeleys Give Cocktail Party Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Neelcy were hosts for a cocktail party last Saturday evening, Septem ber 7, at their residence on 111 Portland avenue. The party preceded the an nual Yellow Rose ball, spon sored by Xi Beta Kappa, an ex emplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and held at the Rogue Valley Country club. Yellow and maroon dahlias decorated the patio and these flowers encircled the base of the punch bowl. Torches lighted the patio. Scholarship To Benefit From Show The scholarship fund of the Beta Upsilon chapter, Beta Sig ma Phi for a young Southern Oregon college student will bei benefitted by the group's annual j fashion show and Hottennany ' Tuesday, September 17 at 7:30 1 p.m., in the home of Mr. and! Presbyter ia I Meeting Slated In Central Point CENTRAL POINT The Wom en's association of the Central Point Presbyterian church will be hosts to the fall meeting of Southern Oregon Prcsbyterial society on Tuesday, September 17. Registration will start at 9 a.m., coffee will be served until 9:30, when a service of prayer, praise and inspiration will begin. A luncheon at noon is being prepared for approximately 100 women who are expected from Roseburg, Klamath Falls, and the coastal area, as well as well as Rogue Valley cities. Mrs. Lloyd McCashen, presi dent and Mrs. Croskell, vice president, are in charge of lo cal arrangements. The regular meeting of the Christian Service circle of the association will be held Thurs day, September 19 at the home of Mrs. Harry Tonn, 130 Cedar street, Central Point. Mrs. O. T. Wilson and Mrs. Gertrude Grcb are hostesses for the 1 o'clock dessert. Dr. Donald Krug, pastor of the church, will lead the study of Chapter 7 of "One People of God". Students Return To Chico State HORNBROOK John MacKin non took his daughter, Pat, and her friend, Ann Rutledge, to Chico on Monday, where the girls, who are roommates, will begin their sophomore year at Chico State college. The previous week, Miss MacKinnon had as a house guest a friend, Miss Barbara Anderson, Compton, Calif. The two students were given special recognition by members of the local Methodist church last Sunday for their faithful work as teachers in the Sunday school during their summer vacation. The Rev. John 0. Reynolds officiated at the double ring ceremony held at two o'clock in the afternoon. Some 125 relatives and friends attended. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Doris B. Pynn, Cottage Grove, Ore., and Frank J. Ital iano, LaCrosse, Wise. Mr. Crum is a son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Hawk, 809 Grant street. Given in marriage by her fath er, the bride wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace and silk organza over taffeta. It was fashioned with Basque bodice, long sleeves and Sabrina neck line accented with pearls and ir idescent sequins; the bouffant organza overskirt was banded with scalloped lace. Reception at Club The reception followed the cer emony at the Girls Community club. Mrs. Harry Hawk and Mrs. Norman Hawk cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Rob ert Bell, Mrs. L. K. Morriss and Mrs. Louis Ruhl poured punch. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Hawk were hosts for a rehearsal dinner at their home for members of the wedding party. The couple traveled to the Oregon coast on their wedding trip and are making their home at Cottage Grove where the bridegroom is an announcer and program director for Radio Sta tion KNND. The bride attended LaCrosse, Wise, High school and the University of Oregon. The bridegroom attended Med ford school and the University of Oregon. Dance Plans Made By Security Club Final plans for a dance to be conducted by Security Benefit club members were made dur ing their last Wednesday's meeting in the Pythian building. The event, open to the public, will be held Friday, September 20 in the same building. Several guests attended the meeting and poems and stories told by members were a part of the program.
