Fall clothing from Jean Hart's store will be modeled at the
annual show which Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will
give Thursday. September 12, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Hearin, 2517 East Main street, Medford. Among the models will
be Mrs. Arvin Reynolds (at left) and Mrs. Sheridan Scott; Mrs.
Reynolds is wearing a green jumper suit by De De Johnson, and
Mrs. Scott a blue Helga original. Their hair is styled by Rose's
Beauty center. The show is open to the public.

A covered-dish picnic dinner
was followed by the business

gave members an opportunity
to learn of the local and national
interests.

guests at the picnic meeting.

Theme for this year's show is
"Hootenany". Local entertain
ers will perform throughout the
show. Clothing will be from
Jean Hart's, hair styles will be
by Rose's Beauty center, and
jewelry will be from Weisficlds
store.

Families Return
From Coast Trip
SHADY COVE-Several fam
ilies from Shady Cove, with
others from Eagle Point and
Medford, returned home the
first of last week after being at
Surfside on the southern Oregon
coast for the four-day week end.
On the trip were Mr. and
Mrs. Delbert Spain and son,
Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Ted G.
Jantzer and sons, Michael and
Monty, and daughter, Joyce;
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hale and
daughter, Carol and son, Kev
in; Mrs. Mary Hale and Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Kelly, all
Shady Cove; Richard Ayres,
Eagle Point and Mr. and Mrs.
Lewis L. Jantzer and daughter,
Janice, Medford.
Youths Attend
Ashland Festival
Denny Frybeck and Dan
Hursh, Corvallis, Ore. have re
turned to their home after com
ing here to attend the Oregon
Shakespearean festival in Ash
land. The boys spent two nights
camped in tents in the park, and
then visited at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. John Kent, 922 South
Oakdale avenue.
The boys came by auto with a
parent, and returned home on
their bicycles.
Other recent guests in the
Kent home were Mr. and Mrs.
Dave Wiiiiams and daughters,
Molly and Sarah, Eugene, Ore.
The Williams played in the
Southern Oregon golf tourna
ment at Rogue Valley Country
club last week end.
After having had a very suc
cessful show last year at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. R. A.
Skinner, the chapter planned to
make the event an annual proj
ect. Proceeds go to a scholarship
fund for a young woman stu
dent at Southern Oregon college.

Beauty center, Rogue Valley
Manor, any member of Beta
Upsilon chapter, or by calling

Toastmistress
Club To Meet
Autumn programs for the
Medford Toastmistress club will
be based on the theme, "A
String of Pearls." The first
meeting of the fall season is
scheduled for Wednesday, Sep
tember 11 at 8 p.m., in the
Girls Community club.
Mrs. C. E. Goodwin will be
Toastmistress for the evening.
Topic mistress will be Mrs.
Ben L. Wells.

Slate Program
A panel discussion on the
Holy Spirit in the lives of mis
sionaries in Brazil will be on
the program for Women's fel
lowship of First Baptist church
Tuesday, August 10. The group
will meet in the fireplace room
of the church on Crater Lake
avenue.
The session will begin at
12:30 p.m., with dessert lunch
eon served by members of the
Martha circle. Mrs- Samuel
Jones, circle leader, will be in
charge.
Mrs. Richard Miller will
lead the. discussion assisted by
Mrs. Wayne Taylor, Mrs. Rob
ert Paeth and Mrs. Warren
Smith. After the program a
business meeting will be con
ducted with Mrs. Ronald Bren
neman presiding.

Miss Joan Callaghan, who
earlier this year was chosen

for San Francisco to enroll in a
Powers Modeling school.
Jerry Shults will return to
Southern Oregon college this fall
and Miss Ellen Callaghan soon
will enter her senior year at
University of Oregon. John
Payne, who is beginning his
first year of teaching in Maple
ton, Ore., is a Southern Oregon
college graduate. He will be
teaching mathematics, science,
physical education, and coach

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunt,
Stockton, Calif., active members
of a senior center there, visited
the orchestra class last week
meet each Saturday afternoon.
The first Wednesday of each
month will be scheduled for the
Senior Craftsmen project. The
receiving committee will meet
new craftsmen from 10 a.ra to
2 p.m., and a meeting of the
jury and design committee will
be held the same day from 4 to
5 p.m.
