Cairo -(UPD- The United Arab Republic will continue to protect the republican regime in Yeman with force if neces sary despite its agreement earlier this year to withdraw troops from the Red Sea coun try. UAR Executive Council chair man (Premier) Aly Sabry left no doubt of this in a recent in terview here. "The return of some contin gents of the UAR force in Ye men does not mean we have abandoned the Yemeni revolu tion," Sabry said. "We are on the alert and will not let the Yemeni people fall again under i cies and the agents of imperial- the domination of reactionary 'sm elements and a corrupt monarchy." He re alized that a serious case re quires a team approach, and he discovered where to turn "when a fella needs a friend" to the clergy. In this, at times dismal world, one bright candle re cently lit, comes from the Acad emy of Religion and Mental Health, where doctors and min isters of all faiths turn to each other to "round out" a cure . . . Mr. L. and Jack's doctor should steer Gilda to a pastor, trained to take up where the medical men leave off in the emotional field. She will be helped to de velop perspective, to realize that Jack has lots of potential left and that he needs her be lief in him. In one such case, for example, a bright man was trained as a tax and investment expert and now supports his family better than ever despite his wheelchair. Egyptian troops have been in Yemen since last October, shortly after the army revolt that overthrew the country's centuries - old Mamate. As fighting continued between Re publican troops and tribesmen seeking return of the monarchy, the Egyptian force grew to an estimated 30,000 men. Battalions Withdrawn The UAR recently has with drawn several battalions. The pullout was made under last April's "disengagement" agree ment, worked out by United States Presidential envoy Ells worth Bunker. "The return of these troops does not affect the military sit uation as far as the Yemeni revolution is concerned," Sabry said. "The United Arab Repub lic is pledged to defend the Ye meni revolution against any ex ternal revolutionary conspira- Yemeni President Abdullah I Sallal came here on Aug. 15 i for his second visit since June There are 72 million licensed auto drivers in the U.S. to meet with President Gamal Abdcl Nasser and get a medical checkup. Doubts Yoked Doubts have been voiced about UAR sincerity in the im plementation of the disengage ment accord which calls for a phased withdrawal of Egyptian troops from Yemen simultane ously with the halting of Saudi Arabian aid to the Royalist fac tion of deposed Imam El-Badr. About 2,000 Egyptian fighting men did return home early in May in a movement that was called a "withdrawal." It turn ed out to be merely a troop ro tation. Authoritative Cairo sources now insist a real withdrawal is under way and that the plan is to pull out the bulk of the Egyptian force within the next three months. Some troops, probably a few thousand, will be left behind to train and de velop the Yemeni army and help maintain order, they say. "We shall have sufficient for ces there to train the Yemeni army and raise it to the level where it will be capable of pro tecting the popular revolution," Sabry said in the interview. The UAR also will step up its economic assistance to Yemen. At a recent meeting with a group of Yemeni tribal chief tains Nasser said the UAR would supply Y'emen with equipment and experts to build new roads and cultivate cotton.
