The Council: This case Is presented (in more detail, of course) in n new book, "Mar ilal Counseling," by a clergy man, Dr. F. Lofton Hudson. This specialist in pastoral psy etiology describes this type of marriage as "hopeless be cause each has imperative needs, these needs are in con f Met, and neither parly knows how to fill his own hungers, much less his mate's. But Dr. lu(on adds the enncourage- mcnt that not all such mar riages need necessarily end in divorce. If Lynn wants to try for the "exception," hers may he it. It's all a matter of how hard both, or even one, will work at the marriage under professional guidance. Such , guidance is needed for each to know himself, know his mate, and discover a few common aspirations. In striving toward a more "giving" relationship, an improvement in the sex angle may ocrur almost as surprise. The important trick SEPTEMBER 1. 1963 for both young people is to raise thir "frustration thresh old." . . , aVKwrj may well bam a 4ifc(r.
