American Legion auxiliary,
delegates to the department
convention at Pendleton spoke
on convention activities and
sessions.
Those attending from Med
ford were Mrs. Walter Col
lins, Mrs. Edward McGinty,

Mrs. Earl Bigalow.
Ten awards were reported
as received by the unit, three
of which were traveling tro
phies. One was given for the
best narrative report on all
around Poppy program cover
ing poppy sales, poppy post
ers, Miss Junior Poppy, pop
py corsage, educational pub
licity, window display and
emphasizing each facet of the
Poppy program.
The second was a memorial
trophy for the most outstand
ing Americanism program for
the year and the last was for
the best report of activities
of the past presidents' commit

While In the valley the
Lawrences visited her sisters,
Mrs. Mildred DeWitt and Mrs.
Lucian Van Gordon.
The Van Gordons had re
cently returned from Lake
Tahoe where they had spent
part of their vacation. They
also visited in the Robert Al
der home in Eugene. Mrs. Al
der is the former Judith Van
Gordon.
While in Portland Mrs. Pol
ing was honored at a luncheon
at Willamette Manor given by
Mrs. James H. Edgar, former
ly of Ashland. Other guests
were Miss Edith Bork and Miss
