ed evangelistic services here
and in Central Point and
Shady Cove. The Sidney Nel
sons, who were associated
with the Corwins in the meet
ings, are remaining in Med
ford, with Mr. Nelson assist
ing Elder A. P. Ritz in the
pastorship of the Medford and
Shady Cove churches.

According to John Meehan,
building committee chairman,
the land upon which the new
building stands was donated,
and church construction was
by members.
The church, which has
seating capacity of 60, is of
frame construction finished
in light green stucco. A small
church school building has
also been completed on the
grounds which have been
landscaped with shrubs and
flowers.
Saturday afternoon services
will be held outside to accom
modate visitors.
New Minister
Expected at BF
Butte Falls - The Rev,
James Powers, Phoenix, Ariz.,
is expected to speak from the
pulpit of the Butte Falls Com
munity Bible church Sunday
morning as the new pastor of
the church.
Mr. and Mrs. Powers and
their four children are to ar
rive in Butte Falls, today or
Saturday.
There will be a potluck
luncheon for the Powers at
the close of the Sunday morn
ing worship service. Each one
attending is to take table ser
vice. During the interim since

moved to the new Dilley com

To Be Dedicated August 25
Dedication activities for
the new First Baptist church
buildings will begin Sunday
at 3 p.m. with a dedication
service. The buildings, de
signed by Edson and Pappas,
architects, and constructed
by Frank Fairweather, con
tractor, were recently com
pleted and have been in use
for the past two weeks,
Dr. E. P. Fosmark, general
director of the conservative
Baptist Association of Ore
gon, will be the speaker for
the dedication service.
The Gospelaircs men's

The contractor will present
the keys to the building to

Mr. and Mrs. Troxell went
to Japan in 1953 as mission
aries. For the first five years
they worked in rural areas
near Rifu. Here in addition to
their regular church ministry,
they helped develop model
farms, conducted youth train
ing centers and taught the
women such things as cook
ing and canning. For the past
five years they have been sta
tioned at Gose in the Nara
Ken prefecture where they
work with the ministers and
churches in the field of evan
gelism under the direction of
the Kyodan, the United
Church of Christ in Japan.
They will live in Eugene for
a year while they are on fur
lough. Mr. Troxell is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Trox

This early fall stewardship
program is being promoted
by the laymen of the church.

the campaign.
The pastor, the Rev. Harold
M. Sanner, is following the
stewardship theme in the 11
a.m. messages. His subject
Sunday morniing will be "The
Fruit of Faithfulness". An un
usual feature in the main
Sunday services, 11 a.m., and
7 p.m., are four-minute testi
monials by chosen laymen.
The pastor's topic for the eve
ning service is "An Accept
able Troublemaker."
Perry Christiansen, minister
of music and education, has
announced the music for the
services. Soloist for the morn
ing service will be Robert
Hansen and a duet will be
presented by Mr. Hansen and
George McUne. Music for the
evening service will include
a . duet by Mrs. Rex Goble
and Mrs. Rex Vowell, and a
tenor solo by Jackson Phil
lips. The Oregon Pacific Distrtict
youth camps are now being
held at the district center
in Clackamas, Ore. This week
the camp for youth of 15
years and up is being held.
The Tween Teen camp for
young people between the
ages of 12 and 14 will be
held Aug. 26 through 31, and
a Young Adult retreat is
planned for the Labor Day
week end. Young people from
the several Churches of the
Nazarene in the valley will
attend these camps.
