OREGON Alan Bray Champion FFA Competition Champion Angus breeding female and lenior champion cow awards were won by Alan Bray, Crater FFA chap ter, and junior champion Angus was awarded to Rich ard Jensen, Crater FFA chap ter, in contests at the Jackson county 4-H and FFA fair last week. Champion and senior cham pion Hereford cow was ex hibited by MiKe tenancy, Eagle Point. Dick Fields, Crater, had the junior cham pion Hereford. The grand champion FFA ulcer was exhibited by Ron Mankins, Phoenix, and the re- erve champion Angus steer was exhibited by Alan Bray, Crater. Rich Anderson, Eagle Point, had the grand champion mar ket hog in the FFA swine judging in which a total of 49 entries were shown. Champion Market Hog Mike Charley, Eagle Point, took the champion market hog award. Pat Neal, Crater, had the grand champion female of 11 breeds. . Ron Beasly, Crater, was named as having the cham pion Berkshire female; Hor ace Webster, Eagle Point, took a championship rosette for his Yorkshire female; Pat Neal, Crater, had the champion Hampshire female; and Larry Dodd, Crater, had the cham pion Landrace female. Rick Anderson, Eagle Point, was named champion swine FFA showman at the fair. Business Education Day Is Scheduled Merlford's sixth annual Bus iness Education Day is sched uled Thursday, Sept. 8, Wil liam J. Williams, president of the Medford Chamber of Commerce, reminded business firms Friday. Designed through the years to build a better communica tions channel between busi ness and the teaching profes sion, the 1963 project will follow the same pattern. Bus iness representatives will meet their assigned teacher guests at fl a.m. at Hcdrick Junior High school. The half-day session will offer business representa tives the opportunity of ex plaining their businesses and how they operate. The teach ers will be their guests for luncheon. Thursday, Oct. 24, Educa tion Business Day will be ob served with the business rep resentatives going to the schools ns guests of the teach ers to learn something about the operation of a modern school system.
